Open Thread: New England Patriots @ Jacksonville Jaguars, Week 16
No surprises as far as inactive players: Ben Watson, Vince Wilfork and Ryan O'Callaghan. But there are a couple surprises for active players: Rodney Harrison, Laurence Maroney and Kevin Faulk.
The Boston Globe's Mike Reiss reports from Jacksonville that Harrison was taking warmups with the starting defense. I wonder if the coaches are willing to risk these three unless the game is on the line late in the going, or if they'll try to rest them a bit to make sure they're ready for the playoffs.
I will be unable to comment during the game, so let's hear some chatter elsewhere out there.
Merry Christmas and Go PATRIOTS !!

Again
It was a scary game though, my heart went into my throat and started to come out my mouth practically when Brady got speared like that. How in the world could he not get that call.
And yet the spend ten minutes looking at the fumble to make sure that there isn't some way that the Zebras can take it away from the Pats.
I am soo sick of the Refs (by the by, the 'roughing the passer' call against the Jags early in the game (as well as the one on the interception, what was Seymour supposed to do, levitate, and the other guy had Gerrard before he threw the ball) was a crock too... he barely touched Brady...
I know it sounds callous, but I just couldn't get all teary eyed for the guy that got beaned. I've gotten kicked in the head by soccer cleats as well as a few basketballs off my noggin' and usually I was told to buck up and shut up so....
Anyway, a win is a win is a win even if it wasn't the prettiest in the world...
RE:
[Pardon the interruption- I am watching the Bengals and Broncos and it just ended with .41 seconds left. Carson Palmer drives his team down the field, scores, and the most sure thing possible -- a PAT -- is muffed on the snap. Poor guys.]
We saw a really good Patriots team today. There were a couple of blown plays (Matt Jones' TD in the 4th) but for the most part they looked good. The only reason Jones-Drew had 131 plus yards is because of that 74 yarder in the second, a pretty sucky play. Minus that and he didn't do too well against our defense.
It's good to see David Thomas get in the passing game and Laurence Maroney to come back strong. The BEST part of today was the return of Rodney Harrison. The defense is 100% better when Harrison is in there and it showed today. I think the Pats would have lost today if Harrison wasn't playing.
