Manning and Brady at dinner

It's pretty well known that Peyton Manning and Tom Brady are good friends. They hang out together in the off-season. They talk on the phone regularly. Whenever someone asks one a question about the other, they sing their praises. So, it was no surprise that on ESPN's PTI last night that several people saw Brady and Manning having dinner together in a Miami restaurant.

According to the PTI's Michael Wilbon and Tony Kornheiser, at least 12 women approached Brady and supposedly ignored Manning. What I found hilarious about this is the PTI guys actually used this to state that Brady was better than Manning... at getting chicks.

I laughed at it (because most likely it is true), but afterwards the whole incident reminded me of something. For all the Brady and Manning bashing that goes on in Colt and Pat blogs and message boards, lost in all the smack talk, insults, and negativity is a friendship between two rivals that boarders on the great rivalries of Bird-Magic, Chamberlain-Russell, Unitas-Namath, Montana-Elway.

These two guys are the two best at what they do. They might go down, when they retire, as the two best ever. Yet despite their team rivalry, fan fanaticism, and so on, they remain good friends. In a perfect world, both will retire the same year. Then, when they are elligible, both will get nominated to the HoF. Then, at the ceremony, Manning can give Brady's induction speech, and then Brady can give Manning's.

Here's to a good frienship...
