You have a great team
He's known some of those guys for 5 minutes.

Rub it in. What's happening on the field hurts worse than your jibes. =)

Not rubbing it in
Just pointing out what happened. Same thing when Brady had no one for 16 games last season (including the first one when he had never played live with any of them -- not even for 5 minutes).

so..
Why don't you bring this up with Patriots management.  They're the ones in charge of this type of stuff.

Not sure who you're talking to
Or what you're talking about.

Bring up what?

Brady never
stunk that bad last season. There were a lot of things that went into this weekend, it wasn't just personnel.

Well...
I think it's funny you say that tommasse because not only was Manning missing 2 receivers, but he was also missing almost an entire offensive line and his starting TE. Don't make it sound like all he was missing was Marvin and rookie Gonzalez

I was thinking of WR Harrison and TE Clark
If I remember correctly (and I'm pretty sure I do), the Patriots had a slew of offensive line injuries (Nick Kaczur, Steven Neal, Russ Hochstein, Ryan O'Callaghan), tight ends (Daniel Graham) and wide receivers (Chad Jackson) in addition to a totally new receiver corps so weak that most of them have already faded back into the oblivion from whence they came.

For the Patriots-Colts regular season game last year, Patriots offensive linemen Neal, Kaczur, Hochstein and Matt Light were all injured going into the game. So were several other key players on both sides of the ball.

Yeah, we know the injury story well.

tommasse....
it's human nature to be in denial. That is a fact. It's also a fact that Manning was missing a lot of his cronies..It's no coincidence that he looked less than average last night.

Brady is a the best QB in the league, PERIOD. He is good enough to make the players around him better. Take the Super Bowl team from 2004. Branch is the only WR that makes the team today(and that's a big maybe) I'll take the bunch we have today over any trio in the league!

Now, look at what Manning did last night. Because of terrible special teams play, the Colts had to play from behind. This takes Addai out(whom, other than Manning and Wayne was the only play maker on the field). Now, Manning has to go with sub-par receivers(paid professionals mind you), and he looks like f'n David Carr. Lets just say that Brady, in this situation, given lemons, truly would have made lemonade(should have won the game in Indy 2007). Manning, on the road, in a Playoff type atmosphere, threw a career high six interceptions. This was the worst game of his career. I think that Dungy, trying to be cute was the reason they lost the game. Dungy actually iced his own kicker. Given the fact that they had a fourth down and goal to go, they should have kicked that f'n field goal. Yeah you give the ball back to the Chargers, however did they even have a first down in the 2nd half? They had zero time outs, and really did anyone think they could get down the field and score? This was a case of really bad play, and really bad coaching by, what is supposed to be the best Coach/QB tandem in the entire NFL. Did anyone realize that Manning threw 2 more pics than Brady has thrown all year? To quote Ralph Wigham: "Hah-Hah, my cat's breath smells like cat food" Manning and Dungy deserved to loose this game. I kind of felt bad for Adam.......NOT!

Another thing. Did you see that Favre threw a 17 yard TD, up 27-0, with five minutes to go? Have you heard from anyone that this was a clear case of "RUNNING UP THE SCORE"? Talk about a double standard, kinda makes me sick to my stomach. Oh well I'll take the three game lead on the "Dolts" though. Any word on Freeney? Wont miss that cat.

average
The Chargers defence is overrated and that doesn't help manning's cause. Let's just say the Colts are what we thought they were...a good SHALLOW team with an overrated coach.

Shallow?
Only 17 players suited up for offense. 2 of those players left the game early which left us with a WR and LT who we just picked up from the practice squad and had never played the game. We have only 3 WR left healthy, 3 injured LB that are out, 3 Defensive Linemen out (4 if you count Freeney now), our CB have been beat up since the 4th quarter of the pats game, and Diem got injured (im sure im prolly forgetting some). Sorry if we are playing a bit subpar at a time when half our darn roster is questionable to play. But i think we're doin pretty good

I agree that 'shallow' overstates it
I think the Colts are a much better team than that. I'm actually surprised biosBSOD didn't additionally jump on the "overrated coach" comment, too, because Dungy is certainly among the elite coaches in the league.

By the same token, "never played the game" is hyperbole extraordinaire.

Then there's the whole issue of Patriots having major injury issues over the last several years and people alleging the Patriots injury reports were not believable. Last season, we saw the Colts enter every game with a dozen or more players listed on their injury, which we here swallowed with a good dose of skepticism. Now the injuries are real. Is that karma, Kramer?

shallowness and versitility
The Colts will go up against some more very average teams so we'll see if dungy can figure out a way to win with what he's got. He still has/had plenty of starters on the field to get it done so a few back-ups on both sides shouldn't kill a game or their season. There's something to be said about player versitility in the quest of being a perennial force and I know of an NFL team that we can talk about on this. Adversity is a true measure of greatness and the Colt's track record hasn't exactly measured up.
