I should have my game preview late this evening, but I think (and probably many people would agree) that Jacksonville poses as big a challenge to New England as any team. So I think people voting in the poll are voting more on the likelihood of an upset (and what they hope will be an upset) than who they legitimately think will win the game.

Looks like it is just the general populace of Pats haters. Anyone can vote, I voted twice, just to see if I could, maybe we can even it out.

I'd say it's fueled by the media

when it comes to upsets for this coming weekend, most are talking about the Jags and the Giants. ESPN writers are talking about these two teams capabilities of upsetting their opponents. There is little left to write about the Cowboys and Patriots that hasn't been written a bizillion times. So the media is leaning towards the lesser covered teams, especially the Jags. If the Jags win just look how smart the media is. They've written in the Pats as SB champs but keep reminding people that the Jags can upset them. This way no matter what the outcome of the game is, they saw it coming.

It's just ESPN covering their asses, and most of the mouth breathers that don't like the Pats are eating it up. I think the Jags could win, but I wouldn't put money on it. I'm not retarded.

Obviously the sports media needs to promote these games as exciting, it's their job.

I'm looking at

Colts winning easily, same with the Pack, Patriots winning in a dog fight (depends how the game gets started), and if TO is slowed or doesn't play the Giants winning in a defensive game. Although I'd like to see Baby Manning torch Roy Williams for 5 or 6 TDs. I hate that man and his over ratedness.

Pats not getting love

It indeed looks like the Jags have the shiny new bandwagon, too tempting to ignore. ESPN columnist Jeremy Green defends his Jacksonville pick citing the lack of respect the Jags have received considering their tough schedule.

What he failed

to mention is that the Jags have a good run defense but the pass defense is mediocre at best. And we all know the Pats are going to light them up through the air. I don't think the Jax D-line can get enough pressure to stop Brady.

And it is true the Pats defense has struggled at times against the run, but Belichick will stack 8 or 9 in the box to stop the run, and I don't believe Garrard can be the one to win the game, especially after watching last week's game.

It'd be nice to have Neal back

for the game. That's been a bit of a hole. I think Ryan O'C has done OK filling in for Kaczur, but Hochstein and Yates have been bordering on brutal--disappointing for me because I've always been a fan of Russ's.
