Most Memorable Patriots Games Ever???

Hey Guys,

I'm new to the site but love what I see so far and can't wait to get more involved.

A question for you though- If you were to think back over the past 30 years or so of Pats football, which individual games stick out most in your minds?  Things like huge comebacks, miraculous wins, crazy things that happened in the stands, SuperBowls, conference championships,  blunder type games (Leon Lett type things)?

Thanks guys!!  Just trying to get some insight into what makes the Pats so special to so many of us!!

So many...

Just off the top of my head, the Baltimore Ravens game from last year as well as the Week 16 match against the New York Giants to cap off an undefeated regular season.

Any of our 3 Super Bowl Wins. Ranking them, the Super Bowl XXXVI victory is probably the greatest one ever in Patriots history (in my humble opinion), but the Super Bowl XXXVIII game against the Carolina Panthers is one of the best played games I’ve ever witnessed. One half of pure defense followed by another half of pure offense, and exciting right down to the end.

The Snow Bowl/Tuck Rule game is another big one.

"Memorable" covers a lot of ground

In the spirit of this week’s matchup, I’ve got to go w/ 2003 over the Colts in the AFC title game, as well as the same from the year before (I think). Also a coupla years back with the goalline stand courtesy of Big Daddy Vince Wilfork and Willie McGinest.

The Snow Bowl, definitely.

Each of the SB victories, but the losses, too. Who can forget Des Howard returning 2 kicks for TD after the Tuna spent the week thinking about his next job rather than the game. Or the ’Fridge putting the capper on the rout and robbing Sweetness of his due at the same time.

Then there’s the snowplow game (Chuck Fairbanks, right?). The Monday Night game with riots in the stands that kept us off the national radar for half a generation.

More recently, the overtime win v. Miami in Miami, where Mr. Patriot Troy Brown caught that PA-Pass over two defenders then out-ran them to the house.

Or what about Ty Law in that playoff game, playing on a practically broken foot and still pulling down key INT’s?

Man, has this been a great team to watch lately, or what?

Me too. Still doesn't seem real.

I don't mean a word of that. Just messin' around.

Someone on this site said we should stir things up a bit or something. That fire is lacking between us this season, understandably.

Actually, someone could post a better list of Colts postseason disappointments. Just don’t.

I have said many times on Stampede Blue that I have found myself cheering for the Patriots this year. Makes me nauseous just saying it =p

1985 AFC Championship

In my mind, this was the first BIG win in Pats history. We absolutely demolished Miami 31-14 in Miami, after beating the Jets in NY and the Raiders on the west coast. I had been a fan for about 10 years, and we were finally going to the SUPER BOWL!!!!! I still remember how great the feeling was, even now after all these years. We had also accomplished something no one had before; won three playoff games on the road. That win gave me confidence that this wouldn’t be our only shot at a title, and as history has shown, it wasn’t.
