Enough against a poor opponent.

Our running game looked uneven. You’ve got to be able to run to both sides, and so far Yates and Kaczur haven’t been able to get it done.

Our DBs scare me; uneven doesn’t cut it.

On the other hand, there were a couple of chances in the first half where this could have gotten out of hand but they clamped down and turned it around. It was good to see Matt hit Randy for a long one—more of that, please. It took TB a while to get his long distance accuracy down; it looks like MC needs some work there as well.

With Miami beating SD in Fla this week, the bolts should be well motivated next Sunday. The 49ers two wins have come against bad comp (Seattle and Detroit). So have ours. After today, I rank our team solidly mediocre. Definitely at least at the top of the bottom third.

As Mr. Sloan always says, there is no "I" in team, but there is an "I" in pie. And there's an "I" in meat pie. Anagram of meat is team... I don't know what he's talking about. --Shaun of the Dead

All in all...a good game

I had a feeling that the Patriots and the 49ers would both settle down after the first quarter, and they did. A shoot out would have been utterly distasteful. They came up with the plays when they needed them and held the 49ers at the end. I don’t know the time of possession off hand but it sure seemed we had the ball for a lot longer, and controlled the game more, than did San Fran. Of course, the niners receivers dropped at least 5 passes that were thrown right on the money. If they had been caught, since the receivers were open, it might have changed the game.

For the most part, Cassel looked good. The long ball to Moss was as pretty as TB ever threw. He still holds it a little longer than I’m comfortable with, and he missed some open receivers to get sacked, but they’re still a work in progress.

I absolutely loved Harrison’s interception and his elbow block that turned a 49ers reception into an incomplete pass. Outstanding game by Harrison. Thought the D would have more sacks than they did though.

Keep the faith!

If MC is going

to throw INTs, I would rather it be trying to stretch the field than on the underneath routes.
