Seau officially signed

Nothing like having backup players that can stay off the roster until needed ;-)

From ESPN...

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- The New England Patriots have signed 39-year-old linebacker Junior Seau to replace Adalius Thomas.

Seau is a 19-year veteran and 12-time Pro Bowl player. He played 27 games for the Patriots the last two seasons but hasn't been with a team this season. Thomas will miss the rest of the season because of an arm injury and was placed on injured reserve Friday. The Patriots also are without injured linebackers Eric Alexander and Pierre Woods.

It’ll certainly be “old home week” for the Pats now. Or maybe old linebacker week? I was thinking they’d probably have to IR Thomas to make room for Seau, but was still hoping he’d be able to come back for the playoffs. Guess not. I love Seau and Colvin, but now we’ll just have to wait and see how they play since it’s been a while for both of them.

Keep the faith!

This is the second time Seau has come out of retirement to play for the Patriots. The first time he broke his forearm (which was pretty gruesome yet hilarious to watch), was apart of the greatest team that never was and his second chance at obtaining that elusive Super Bowl ring (not rubbing it in just saying). I wonder what will happen this time. hmmmmmmmm

It IS getting a little nuts around here

Maybe Andre Tippet will suit up pretty soon. He might have grandchildren, but he can probably wack someone over the head with his bronze HoF bust.

You guys do like picking up the unsigned veterans

Lately. Guess they know the system, though, so it’s a good move.

Plus, I like seeing Seau back. Even if he isn’t the dominating player he was anymore, the guy’s leadership and motivation is awesome.

Good signing!

At 39, without working out every day, the guy is still a specimen

His presence will be felt with the young guys in that locker room, even if he never plays a down

Keep the faith!
