Given his timetable for a return runs in the 3-to-4 week window, as the source indicated, it’s likely the Patriots will place Bruschi on season-ending injured reserve. With the urgency of having to win out to make the playoffs, and needing healthy bodies, the Pats don’t have the luxury of waiting for Bruschi’s injury to heal.

I was afraid of this when I saw him go down Sunday

Even though he’s only been playing 1st and 2nd down, his locker room and on-field character, leadership and presence is just so huge.

Keep the faith!

Could be it for him, too.

Old guys heal slow. I think we’re looking at a changing of the guard (or at least the defense). Rodney and Bruschi will leave their boots on the field; Merriweather and Mayo will take up the mantle.

As Mr. Sloan always says, there is no "I" in team, but there is an "I" in pie. And there's an "I" in meat pie. Anagram of meat is team... I don't know what he's talking about. --Shaun of the Dead

Sad, but methinks accurate

at least

The young players are playing in world of do or die. That can’t be bad for em.

have any of the players

expressed an interest in coaching? Would love to see some of the older guys join the staff (whether there’s “room” for them or not)! It’s probably blatant homerism dreaming/loyalty in my thought process there, but I’d really hope these guys, when they do end their playing careers, stay involved in the franchise.

Not completely dreaming

look at Pepper Johnson and Andre Tippet.

Not the way I would like to see them go out, tho.

Who wants to bet

that the way the season is going, Belichick gets rolled on from behind ala Charlie Weis before the end of the year? LOL
