Pats Pulpit: An SB Nation Community

This Site

I have been away for over a week on business, and I've been catching up on football talk. A couple of observations about this site.

1. It is becoming more of an interesting place than ever before to browse. It's nice to see good posts and info about your team.

2. It seems to be more populated. Not long ago, it felt like no man's land.

3. You are big homers like we are. That's how it is suppose to be. Of course you have plenty of reason to be optimistic. Your team is already great, and you have had a solid offseason. I would like to think the Colts also have good reason to be optimistic. I eagerly anticipate our  matchup.

4. I think you are a good representation of Pats fans. You are the kind of site that can make others be more fond of your team and its success. I enjoy reading and blogging here.

Enjoy the offseason. These next few months always get me primed and impatient for the start of the regular season. It gets so bad that I even look forward to the preseason games. There ought to be a ten step progam for addicts like me, but I doubt I'd allow it to reform me.

We both have a bye week earlier than I prefer. Hopefully we won't need it later. Here's to a great season.....

Thanks!

What you outlined above is EXACTLY what I was hoping for – thoughtful exchanges between rival fans representing their teams. I’m really looking forward to blogging with you guys and learning more about your acquisitions and how they impact the Colts. After all, who better to learn from than the fans?

hehe...

I both loathe and look forward to the “Annual Colts Game”. IMHO they are perennially the best two teams in football, both with talented Os and Ds, and two of the best HC in all of Football. No matter which team your route for, the game is always a great hard fought game, and it is never a really “nasty” rival like we have with the Jets. Its more of a sportsmanship rival (well, ok the fans go at each other’s jugulars).

Belichick

I remember after the Colts fired Mora (“Playoffs?!?”), some of my friends and I were desperately wanting to get Belichick to Indy as our new coach. Of course, I was perfectly content and thrilled when we signed Dungy, and I have been happy ever since. My pont is that you are right. These have been the two premiere coaches in the NFL for some time, IMO.

The rivalry is always going to be intense when two teams are always battling at the top. San Diego has joined that list lately, and the emotions fly. I would rather have that, though, than to have my team be so lousy that we weren’t a rival to anyone and we weren’t that interested or passionate about our games. It’s better than being one of those teams who vents all their hostility at their own team’s management and the stupidity of their decisions. That used to be the case for us. No sir, give me these years and tensions anyday.
