SI projects Pats as Champs
Sports Illustrated has printed their 2008 preview, and they have projected the Patriots as winners over the Eagles in the Super Bowl. Tom Brady will grace the cover of the magazine when it is printed.
They have our regular season record as 13-3, and defeating the Colts at home for the AFC crown after beating the Steelers in the divisional game.
So they are predicting a victory over the Eagles just as in 2004, except the order of beating the colts and steelers is reversed and we lose 1 more regular season game than that season.
I have the Eagles as my NFC sleeper pick so I am not too surprised there, although I would have expected the Chargers to be in the AFC championship game again.

That list doesn’t say the Patriots play @ the Colts in the Championship game. It says the Patriots beat the Colts. According to the team record, the Colts would be forced to travel to NE since NE would be a higher seed. Nitpicking aside, there’s no way I can see the Vikings going 13-3 and the Eagles 12-4. The only offense the Eagles have is Westbrook, and Peterson for the Vikings. Neither of those defenses are dominant either. The Vikings were dead last in pass defense last season, and the Eagles were meh at best.

To Be Fair
The Eagles and VIkings don’t exactly have the same defense this year. The Vikings will get alot more pass rush with guys double teaming Jared Allen leaving the Williams boys to get more pressure than last season. The Eagles on the other hand have Asante Samuel who is a top 5 CB in this league (gotta admit it). I predicted myself that the Vikings will play the Eagles in the NFC championship game.

Of course my prediction is a lot better. ;)

bad grammer
I meant at Foxboro, I just failed to imply that. ‘At home’ for me always implies Foxboro.

Huh.
Well, I suppose we will have to wait and see.
I’m inclined to disagree…of course.

We're doomed.
As Mr. Sloan always says, there is no "I" in team, but there is an "I" in pie. And there's an "I" in meat pie. Anagram of meat is team... I don't know what he's talking about. --Shaun of the Dead

Hopefully......
…but seriously, this is coming from the same magazine that had this comment….
“Jeffri Chadiha, then of Sports Illustrated, now of ESPN: "Randy Moss redeeming himself in New England? I just don’t see it happening … he seems less interested in playing at a high level … his presence would only poison a team like New England … Moss’s best days are long behind him.” For New England to obtain Moss, Chadiha foresaw, was “madness.” Moss set the single-season touchdown receptions record as the Patriots came within 35 seconds of perfection."

Nothing would be better than another Patriots superbowl win, except a night with Beyonce and Angelina , BUT it’s a long season - and I don’t like looking on the sunny side of things -- I’d go blind ( the nuns actually told me I’d go blind for another reason, but that’s an entirely different story)

19-0?
Well, with the exception of Indy in Indy, Pittsburgh at home (which I’ll be attending) and San Diego, I really don’t see many threats on our schedule. But that’s not to say we won’t lose one. Teams always lose… except last year. It is very possible that we could go 19-0 this season. We have gotten a lot younger and faster on defense and our offense is the friggin’ Scourge of Carpathia, so I expect good things.
We may not go 16-0 in the regular season, but I feel that 13-3 might be a bit too conservative an estimate in our win-column. I would expect a minimum of 14-2 to a maximum of 16-0. Anyways, I did want to once again wish the Colts fans on here (whose presence and input is an enrichment to our community) the best of luck with Peyton and his knee. I would hate to see him go down like that. Actually, I’d hate to see him go down at all. It would just be depressing to play Indianapolis without Peyton Manning.
