MNF Open Thread: Jets @ Dolphins

The 1-3 Dolphins take on the 3-1 Jets at home.  This is an important, early season matchup as a Miami win would put New England in a tie with the Jets for first place.

Uhmm... go Dolphins?

lol yeah you guys can thank us for this win

thanks for supporting us for your own benefit, you know we’d do the same ;) Good luck next week, I’ll be cheering for you guys to keep the Titans win-less.

yeah, it definitely helps

With another game to go against the Jets, Patriots can control their own destiny now in the division. Can’t overlook the two games against the Phins though, especially given the Pats’ vulnerabilities on defense.

yeah they should be good games

and I’m more concerned about it being a good game rather than if the Dolphins win, I’d rather them lose a nail biter than a blowout. So I hope the games with the Pats are good ones, and of course I hope we win :)

“Man, that must have almost been painful to type.” LOL

Good game DIB

I saw about three quarters of it. They must have come close to setting the record on fourth quarter TD’s. I’d rather cheer the Dolphins to beat the Jets to help us out, than the Jets to beat the Dolphins like last year. It takes weeks to get that taste out of your mouth. :-p

Henne looked pretty good. You guys got a quarterback.

Thanks. I wouldn't ever be able to cheer for the Jets. That would take a lot.

It was a really good game, which I’m thankful for. Rex Ryan seemed really shocked that we showed up his defense.

Hopefully Henne is here to stay, maybe he’ll be the next Tom Brady ;)

that was a very good game

it is great that we are tied for the lead… but it looks like it will be a very tough fight for the division championship. until now i didnt believe folks who compared the afc east to other tough divisions such as the nfc east… but now im a believer.
i hope i never have to be a dolphan again like i was tonight

lol yeah you can stick to your own team again

the AFC East is slowing proving how strong it is, well with the exception of the Bills lol

The Bills are one coach (and maybe owner) away from being a very good team.

Like the 2007 Dolphins. They played some good football, but weren’t fundamentally sound. A new coach and some filler parts, and you’re a contender. Chiefs are a couple years out, and surprisingly the Lions may only be a year away.

The more you know, the more you know that you don't know.

by SlotMachinePlayer on Oct 13, 2009 10:28 AM EDT up reply actions

I agree with you. The Bills should have got rid of Jauron last year

and are paying for it this year. I think they need a new GM, too. And sadly Ralph Wilson needs to go.

The Lions are showing some flashes of potential, like the game with the Steelers this weekend. The Chiefs should be good in the future, which will be great seeing how the AFC West isn’t exactly the most competitive division.

That pass interference call

was bs anyway. But then we know the refs always favor the Jets ;-)

lol yeah it was. But the refs are always going to get something wrong.

I would have been more mad if it would have cost us the game

Sometimes you just have to play enough football to beat the team AND the refs.

Get a little sloppy and the calls might beat you.

The more you know, the more you know that you don't know.

LOL like Sanchise

I don’t want our team being Jets-esque
