Around SBN: 2012 Budweiser Shootout Entry List Released

Ouch! Bring on Tate and Nunn and hopefully Aiken can step up!

Galloway must feel terrible that he can't beat a one-armed rookie.

Ahhhhhhhhh

One-armed rookies aside, man! Time for the flying Nunn to land on the big boys roster. The only thing is that he’d have to stay there or else he’d have to clear waivers again before being put back on the practice squad. Wow.

Keep the faith!

What are we going to do?

Edelman may not be needed against Tampa and, depending on how Tate’s doing, Edelman may be better off taking the next two weeks off and see where he is. If he’s healthy and we still have Tate and Nunn on the team, that would be waaaay too many receivers going into the stretch of the season. I don’t see that happening. I say either Nunn or Tate will step up and take Galloway’s spot and contribute and, effectively, take Edelman’s spot for the next couple of weeks.

By replacing Galloway with Nunn/Tate, we’re not really sacrificing a roster spot. Galloway wasn’t even being used. So I say only one gets moved up gets moved to 5th receiver once Edelman get’s back (unless they breakout).

All things being equal, my money's on Tate

Mainly because even if he’s bumped down the receiver depth chart when Edelman’s healthy, he’s an absolute stud return man. Given Maroney is the main back at the moment, they will want to limit his returns. It seems to fit well that the time Maroney’s return duties get cut down is when Tate gets upgraded to the roster.

Agreed.

We just need a player who can be a threat the next couple of weeks and who can contribute after Edelman is back. Nunn is a great threat, but, as you said, Tate takes the spot because of his versatility.

My only question is knowledge of the system. Nunn’s been playing around with the players so he might have a slight advantage on that.

Randy will order Tate around the field if he gets it wrong

He was pretty vocal when marshalling Edelman around on Edelman’s debut, I see no reason why he wouldn’t direct Tate around the field too, if necessary.
