New England Patriots at Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Oct 25, 2009 1:00 PM EDT

Wembley Stadium.  Jolly old England.  American Football in the land of Football.  Apparently this game sold out rather quickly.  I can understand that.  We have a significant number of non-US fans we count as our digital friends.  I'm excited for them.  How often do they get a chance to see their favorite team?  Our very own bartHML, all the way from Budapest, Hungary will be attending the game, taking notes, and writing a story for us.  VERY COOL!!

With that said, let's get this thing started.  Fire away.

BTW,

Nice job with the interviews. I think you guys handled it just right — no fawning, and a couple of off the beaten track questions. (And everybody involved did a nice job of sponsor-pimping. That should get you called back, if nothing else.)

Yeah--

great question, something I have also noted (and written a little about here). With the push for an 18 game schedule, it’s something that should definitely be pushed to the front.

Allright.

We look like shit against one of the worst teams in the league. This is a 14-7 ballgame, and our offense looks lost, disoriented, unfocused and weak. I don’t know whether it’s a hangover from the Titans, pre-bye distraction or a result of the time change and flight. In any case, we just don’t look that good.

Easy killer.

It was a horrible play that we didn’t earn — it was a gift. I’m just not disposed to credit the defense for catching a gimme from a bad offense. I’m discounting, because I don’t think leading a team like Tampa is an indication of improvement when we’re going to be facing Indy soon. I feel like we need to be handling our business and I can see that we’re not.

Poor performance

Brady: 11-16, 150 yards, 2 Int., 1 TD.
4 penalties for 25 yards including a drive-killing holding penalty a the end of the half.
3 of 6 on 3rd down.
losing the time of possession battle, 13:36 – 16:24.
50% redzone efficiency

Against most other teams, I’d be content with the lead into halftime. But against the mighty Buccaneers, we need to be showing more consistency and execution. At least I’m not wondering whether Hoodie will have anything to say at halftime…

Baker can be a first stringer in the Pats’ offense, so unless Watson agrees to a reasonable contract, I’m betting they go with Baker and the best TE they can draft in the third or fourth round.

Well, a win.

Kind of a dull way to head into the Bye, but I’ll take it.

As Mr. Sloan always says, there is no "I" in team, but there is an "I" in pie. And there's an "I" in meat pie. Anagram of meat is team... I don't know what he's talking about. --Shaun of the Dead

so um.

can we say that brady is better than manning coming off of injuries. manning= 4-4 through eight games on a 4 week injury
brady= 5-2 through 7 games off a year long injury

Brady stats should be a little better too right?

15 TDs – 4 INTs is pretty darn good for someone that hadn’t played in over a year. I think Manning had double the INTs at this point last year.
