The Saints Are Probably The Hardest Game So Far

I think we will have to concentrate on getting our cornerbacks ready for this game coming up against the Saints. If not they will dumb against the Saints wide-recievers. Im not saying that we cant handle the Saints but its not Mark Sanchez who will be throwing the ball..... it will be Drew Brees. That spells trouble if the Pats defense cant work together. For offense if Darren Sharper remains on the inactive list we will be okay.

11-0

We have had alot of injuries on offense and defense for the last 4 weeks but most could have played through them.
Except we knew we coiuld win the last few weeks with backups now they will all be back for the patriots game and that includes 3 starting db’s and our run stuffer in the middle sedrick ellis
This will be a good game i believe the pats are a good team but not near as good as the saints.
You have a 1-3 record on the road this would be different if it were in foxboro
I dont believe your defense is up to the challenge of stopping our offense expecially our running game
You do have a potent passing game with brady and moss and the best possesion reciever in the game welker, but you dont have a strong running game
Good luck and lets have a good game with no injuries who knows ya’ll might get lucky you know what they say any given suday
geaux saints.

8-3

Thanks, I’m hoping to not only keep injuries at bay but to maybe get some injured players back before Sunday. I don’t think the road record has anything to do with being on the road, as much as it does who the Patriots have played on the road.

The Saints’ record is better, but I don’t think this will be a gimme game for you all by any stretch.

and you lost to the jets

thats the jets a team we beat by 14 points

by mississippisaintsfan on Nov 23, 2009 9:41 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

no, i mean in the first place

first, it was to state your record
second, to point out the Pats aren’t as good as the Saints
third, to point out the Pats’ defense isn’t up to the challenge of stopping the Saints offense
fourth, to point out the Pats don’t have a strong running game

Hmmm… if that’s not angry, then how about overly critical. You might call that a good time, but pointing out other team’s faults isn’t very sporting when you’re own team is undefeated.

Keep the faith!

by Marima on Nov 23, 2009 9:50 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

and...

We also beat the jets by more than 14 points, you can’t use half the facts in an arguement

by Ogor on Nov 24, 2009 9:55 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

just to state

tom brady was did not have much chemistry with anyone in the beginning of the season(like maybe the firs 6-8 weeks). And we didn’t have welker. so that was not really valid of a comparison.

Saints team to beat

The thing about the Pats they find ways to win ( Belichick ) your right any given Sunday
Good luck it will be a great game !!

by PatsFanSouth on Nov 23, 2009 3:53 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Saints

are good, but have used some luck to go 10-0. Certainly the Falcons should have won their last game, and the Dolphins coach blew their game, and even the Rams had a good chance to win one.

Either way it’s a great test for both teams. Neither one will be able to afford mistakes.

"These players, a lot of other people didn't believe in them, but they believe in themselves. And that is all that matters."- Bill Belichick

by Mainiac on Nov 23, 2009 4:49 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

ok

lets start with the dolphins we came out flat gave up 14 quick points on turn overs then we gave up 10 points to their offense halftime score 24-3 second half we dominated shut down their run game and out scored them 43-10 final score 46-34

the falcons game.they are a great run team and a div. rival we who always play us close like the jets do when they beat you earlier this year but we won by 10 points

the rams we played terrible we had 6 defensive starters we sat because of injuries 3 db’s and 2 defensive tackles and 1 linebacker
they probable could have played but our coaches sat them as in last week also like our running back reggie bush

all but one will be back next week they are allhealthy for the pat’s game

by mississippisaintsfan on Nov 23, 2009 5:03 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

I don't know about that.

The Saints didn’t shut down the ‘Phins run game – the ’Phins coach did, by inexplicably trying to get his young QB to try to duel Drew Brees instead of sticking to the run. The Saints didn’t seem to shut it down, the ’Phins just stopped running it. It was stupidity on their part, not effectiveness by the Saints.

The Rams (seriously, the Rams! They’re just awful) showed that the Saints can be very vulnerable. The Saints offence is great at scoring quickly, but it’s only so-so at ball control, time-eating stuff. That meant the Saints defence saw a lot more of the Rams offence, and the Rams capitalised. Not only did Steven Jackson run his socks off, but the Rams passing offence got more yards than the Saints did. You might accept one or the other, but surrendering massive amounts of yardage both through the air and on the ground against one of the worst teams in the league is deplorable. Even though it was against second-string guys, not being able to shut down either the pass or the run must be worrying.

The pat's wont have to worry about that

All our defensive starters that have been out the last few weeks will be back this week for the pat’s

by mississippisaintsfan on Nov 23, 2009 5:49 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Not really my point

It also shows a lack of scheming or a breakdown in the plan. Giving up yards on the ground and in the air against a decidedly average team isn’t good; especially one QB’d by Mark Bulger, who must be on track for a career-worst season. Giving up yards on the ground to Steven Jackson isn’t particularly shameful, as he’s a fantastic back, but doing it as well as having Bulger carve up the Saints defence is worrisome, because it suggests your defensive co-ordinator and coach had no answer for either the pass or the run.

The Jets loss was terrible, I'll give you that.

Tom was rusty after not playing for a year. Welker was out, and Joey Galloway sucked the paint off the walls.

The Broncos loss was in OT – not so terrible.
The Colts won the game in the last minute, oh and they are also undefeated – not so terrible.

ok I misread your post, and you are right.

by Ufanforreal on Nov 25, 2009 3:11 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

wait wait when were the colts a terrible team?

Jets lost was bad, brady was out of sync and our number 2 was out of the game…we all saw that it would have went if welker played…

Broncos were a good team when we played them. Their defensive collapsed in the last few weeks, but they were pretty much in their prime when we played them. it was an overtime loss and once again we saw brady losing sync.

Also if u think the colts are a bad team..then there are no good teams in the nfl. Brady is back to near 100% and we tore up the colts def for the most part…this team is not the same team that lost early on in the season.

We can empathize with you about Jets fans (and Philly/Giants)

After we beat them they explained how they “gave the game to us”. Meanwhile, we’re leding the league in takeaways and margin of victory. I’m sure you guys have had to deal with this a LOT more than we have, though. I look forward to a great, injury-free game.

I'm not

Worried about our starting linebacker or strong safety they both played last weekand did fine.
Jabari Greer our cornerback has only been out 2 weeks i think he will be ok
Sedrick Ellis out starting DT has been out 4 weeks he could have come back last week but they rested him i am worried he will get a little winded by half time
And we just resigned cornerback Mike Mckenzie who has played for us for 4 -5 years and cut in traing camp he is really good but kept getting hurt he’s100% but hasnt played in over a year so he’s rusty

I also wonder how big a difference the TEs would've made

both Ben Watson and Chris Baker are nicked up and on the injury report, which presumably means neither of them are playing at 100%. Considering how the Pats use TEs instead of FBs for extra run-blocking, that’d cut down the ability to blow off defences over 2 yard stretches.

Greer

would do better on Moss. no one can cover Welker all the time and with Greer’s speed and height he is your best chance to cover Moss if you leave that to Jenkins and Young Brady will be throwing to Moss all day and Greer will be wasted trying to follow Welker around all day It’s Moss that scores touchdowns you have to cover him first then worry about Welker

I know it may seem like a pile of Sanchez, but give them a little bit of a break.

This is the first year they’ve been a complete team in awhile. They’re legitimately in the hunt, and are looking forward to a Lombardi. Think Pats in 2001. In showing pride for their team, however, some of them are being quite disrespectful.

What I’d like to see from their fans is a layout of their players and strengths and weaknesses (every team has some) of the team. That is useful for me, because the Saints haven’t been shown here much at all. I don’t know much about most of the players with the exception of some sound bites.

If I were to guess...

Pats bloggers don’t know enough about the Saints to really go in-depth, and vice-versa. They play very rarely, so it’s far, far harder to talk about matchups, etc, than it is with the Colts-Pats, considering the Pats and Colts meet each other pretty much every year, and often several times a year.

The saints absolutely tear apart defenses. there is almost no way to truly shut them down since they have shockey reaking havok in the spots you’re thin, and you have pierre thomas running wild if you give their crazy fast wrs double coverage, not to mention the brilliance that is drew bree’s.. it should be a fun one
