Open Game Thread: Patriots @ Saints

New England Patriots at New Orleans Saints, Nov 30, 2009 8:30 PM EST

Imgdyn_cfm_medium

This ain't your daddy's Saints.  This is a tough matchup for both teams and will be some darn good football.  Entertaining?  To say the least.  It'll make for a great MNF duel.  The inevitable comparison will be Tom Brady and Drew Brees; that's the matchup that the talking heads will be spouting about all night.  And if the Saints pull this one out, we'll get endless, "Has Brees taken the QB crown?"  Boom Baby!!

GO PATRIOTS!!

the one of the colts had him catching over 2 colts. but i figured the phins were better lol

by MOSS81 on Nov 30, 2009 8:10 PM EST up reply actions

it can't get worse than the game vs the colts...

The announcers were getting the teams wrong when they said players, and saying the wrong name for guys. It was pathetic. I ended up muting the TV and listening to Gil and Gino

They should have him write everything he knows...

then for every positive statement Millen says, the editor should add a don’t and for every “I never” put a you must.

It’ll be a bestseller.

why is that guy on tv...

a) he sucks @ commentary,
b) he ruined the Lions
c) he talking about how hot Iowa’s qb’s mom was…..

by Comedic.Sans on Nov 30, 2009 8:27 PM EST up reply actions

In that case he's probably there as the emergency QB

and might not be intended as a WR at all.

Is Aiken playing, then?

by Comedic.Sans on Nov 30, 2009 8:29 PM EST up reply actions

Not necessarily

You can have your 3rd QB as part of the game-day 53 players, and then the 4th quarter rule doesn’t apply. The emergency QB slot is effectively the 54th guy, but they can only play in the 4th without meaning the first and second QB are ruled out.

They'd probably pick the Pats in a game in Foxboro

It is going to be a close-run thing, and homefield advantage might tip the balance.
