One week, one opponent, at a time

Sparano: Joey Porter, What is best in life?
Porter: To crush The Jets, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of Mark Sanchez

any given Sunday...
Just ask the Jaguars who gave the Titans their first win, or the Eagles who lost to the Raiders.
Keep the faith!

Coming off that Sunday win
Belichick feeds the boys some humble pie, so they know they’ve still got work to do.
I got caught in that trap last year coming off the 2007 season. Then Brady was IR’d, Harrison was IR’d, Maroney, half the linebackers…. A whole lot of games left to play, a whole lot of potential for injuries.
Dolphins got a good shot, but what if Brown got injured? Feel confident? Then Williams gets hurt carrying the load. Still feel sure? How about Long, or Porter or JT? Is the season still in the bag?
One week, one opponent, at a time. That’s all you can focus on.
Right now at the Vikes fans up here are focused on a sure fire Super Bowl victory. Oh, and Favre injured his groin before the Packers game. It was bothering him during the game. Does that cause him to start throwing picks like he did last year in NY? If Tavaris Jackson plays instead, does that Lombardi shine as brightly? The more you hope about things you can’t control, the harder you hit when they don’t turn out.
