Around SBN: Cal RB Jahvid Best Seriously Injured, Carted Off Field

Me and My friend on The Pats

me and a buddy of mine had a disscussion about the pats woes they should fix this offseason.

Star-divide

"Brendan A" (10:23:22 AM): some site's saying the pats should get Brandon Jacobs in free agency don't we already have a salary problem, and solid RBs?

shadow8caster (10:23:37 AM): not a bad idea, true, but can you count on Morris and Jordan

"Brendan A" (10:23:54 AM): if they'd be willing to boot maroney for him, i'd love that

shadow8caster (10:24:13 AM): maroney is gone either way i think

"Brendan A" (10:24:32 AM): i hope so, but they seem to love him no matter how much he stinks

shadow8caster (10:24:59 AM): they're just hoping he gets better,  he's done either this year or next year

"Brendan A" (10:25:28 AM): 4 years and he still blows, doesn't lower his shoulder to gain yards, etc

shadow8caster (10:25:42 AM): he's too soft and to injury prone, yea they should already know he isn't worth it

"Brendan A" (10:26:28 AM): Lamont is a free agent too next year, I'd like to see him back. any tough running game like in the snow or wind relies on him

shadow8caster (10:26:47 AM): yea he's also unreliable, and Morris is injury prone. Jacobs would be an overpriced yet decent addition

"Brendan A" (10:28:12 AM): ya, morris is injury prone, but when he's not hurt he's untouchable

shadow8caster (10:28:27 AM): yea but when isn't he hurt

"Brendan A" (10:28:28 AM): remember the game before he went out this past season? he had a career high in the first HALF of the game, and he didn't even play the second

shadow8caster (10:28:40 AM): yea, but he got hurt

"Brendan A" (10:28:54 AM): i'd still take him over maroney

shadow8caster (10:29:01 AM): yea me too, I'd take Faulk over Maroney as an every down back. Maroney just isn't NFL material

"Brendan A" (10:30:43 AM): haha, i don't know about that kevin's too small

shadow8caster (10:31:09 AM): yea but he's better than Maroney. He doesn't get hurt I'm not saying he's the no 1 RB  not at all, but hes better than phoney Maroney

"Brendan A" (10:34:46 AM): maybe, i like him more as a receiver

shadow8caster (10:35:17 AM): he's a great utiliyt back

"Brendan A" (10:35:47 AM): i hope we can find someone else like him when he retires

shadow8caster (10:36:00 AM): bill Belicheck will. I mean come on he is what troy brown was, mister reliable

"Brendan A" (10:37:09 AM): well they can do that because they have one thing in common, they rarely play 2 snaps in a row

shadow8caster (10:37:43 AM): yea but they always make big plays

"Brendan A" (10:37:43 AM): troy could do all that on offense and defense because he wasn't out there for all the snaps

shadow8caster (10:37:59 AM): they were put in when it counted

"Brendan A" (10:38:08 AM): it's not a bad idea to have a player like that on 3rd down that was fresh and rested. They take up roster spots, so usually they get pegged as a backup. If it's affordable, do it

shadow8caster (10:38:36 AM): lol it's an important role

"Brendan A" (10:38:50 AM): btw, Jacobs was franchised, just found out

shadow8caster (10:40:19 AM): i know

"Brendan A" (10:40:45 AM): we don't need a running back anyways. we need a corner and a linebacker

shadow8caster (10:40:59 AM): well lb isn't too bad, we need 1 solid corner. Hobbs is good, Deltha stinks. We have good young lbs waiting in the wings

"Brendan A" (10:43:08 AM): Hobbs would be ok if there was someone decent on the other side, and O'Neal stunk when he came here

shadow8caster (10:44:06 AM): as for lbs, we have Mayo, Thomas, and Guyton, all who look good at times last year

"Brendan A" (10:45:25 AM): Thomas is going to be traded or someone you wouldn't expect, maybe Richard Seymore

shadow8caster (10:45:49 AM): no way he's a key plug man

"Brendan A" (10:46:02 AM): he had one good play this year, against Favre and whoever he brought down with him. but he's injury prone and getting slower. not slow yet, but slowing

shadow8caster (10:46:37 AM): ride him out for a year, we have plenty linemen if he doesn't muster up then throw him out

"Brendan A" (10:47:13 AM): i want to see another rookie linebacker, another threat like Mayo helps the pass rush and takes pressure off the corners

shadow8caster (10:47:28 AM): we need a CB first, we may need a new Saftey too with what happened to harrison

"Brendan A" (10:47:56 AM): i think Pierre Woods will take over for Rodney. According to Harrison, he's looking to come back with "whoever signs him"

shadow8caster (10:48:25 AM): he's done, he should hang it up. Great player, just holding on after an injury like that

"Brendan A" (10:49:25 AM): i think if he makes a stink about coming back, they'll pass on him, if he doesn't, he'll be back sharing load

shadow8caster (10:49:33 AM): yea definitely, not too much of the load though, he's going to be a lot less fleet footed. Maybe on Saftey blitz' cause we all know he'll never forget how to hit people. His coverage will be less effective

Trade Adalius?

Why? Because he was covering for Mayo while they brought him along?

Defense

The edges, corners, and backfield worry me. Guys like Adalius add some experience to those positions. We’ll need him to mentor Crable as well as 2009 will be like his rookie year (remember, he was drafted in 2008, but IR’d early in the season).

chat style

I really love members adding to the site so I hope you continue, but that layout is really hard to read.

I think it would have been better to summarize the points of the conversation.

"These players, a lot of other people didn't believe in them, but they believe in themselves. And that is all that matters."- Bill Belichick
