Vikings Showed Interest in Matt Cassel
At least, according to this report from the Star Tribune.
Vikings executives appeared to have spent extensive time attempting to address their quarterback situation at the combine, which ends today. According to a person with knowledge of the situation, the team met with David Dunn, the agent for New England's Matt Cassel. The Vikings have interest in Cassel, but he has received the Patriots' franchise tag (guaranteeing him $14.65 million) and New England is believed to be asking for a significant return in a trade.
I wonder - was it that Cassel and his agent were asking for too much money, or were the Patriots asking for too many draft picks in return?
Either way, the Vikings look to be making a move for Sage Rosenfels instead.

Interesting point
Go ahead, search the league and just try to find a club with more story lines than the Patriots in free agency.
That’s how Pro Football Weekly’s ‘AFC East Free Agency team preview’ article begins, and it’s true. You raised a good question of where the real pressure point is in the Matt Cassel negotiations and what (or who) was the deal-breaker with the Vikes.
Keep the faith!

If I were the vikes
I wouldn’t be happy with Fumblin’ Sage

Vikes QB woes
It seems Cassel would’ve been a good fit instead of Sage “helicopter” Rosenfels. I wonder if Kraft wants too much for Cassel and it was just too much for Minnesota.

Not that Sage is deserving of such flak, but I feel that Miss Tavaris Jackson is equally deserving of that flak as well. I don’t blame the Vikings for starting from scratch on the QB front.
I don't need no instructions to know how to rock!
