Around SBN: This Should Encourage Juan Mata

Springs, by the way, is very familiar with Terrell Owens. He's seen the receiver at least twice a year nearly every season since 2002. When Springs was with Seattle and the Seahawks moved to the NFC West, Owens was with San Francisco. Later, when Springs went to the Redskins, Owens also was in the NFC East both with Philadelphia, then Dallas.

Springs was inactive for one of the two meetings with Dallas in 2008, and played only a half of the other before straining his calf. Owens had seven receptions for 71 yards and a touchdown in that game, but only two catches for 21 yards with Springs on coverage."

The Springs signing makes sense no matter who is in the AL East since Ellis Hobbs was our best corner. But this is good info.

I watched that game

Springs did an excellent job of limiting Owens, and that’s part of the reason why the Redskins won that game. I just hope he can stay healthy (that’s probably wishful thinking given our luck with the secondary).
