"You know in New England it's not about one individual player," said Springs, who signed a three-year, $10.5 million deal, with incentives that could push it to $13 million. "It's more of a team thing, regardless of whether it's me or Leigh Bodden, or Ellis Hobbs or [Terrence] Wheatley on him, with the Patriots you're going to play what the defense calls for. T.O. coming to Buffalo made a difference. He is a playmaker, but that's not going to change the way the game is called."

I love the guy already
Springs already speaks fluent “Patriots”
"[Belichick and I] just talked about me being a Patriot." he said. "He didn’t go into much detail. . . . He was just like ‘Come over to New England.’ I didn’t actually question him. I have so much respect for what he’s done for players in the past, I don’t ask questions, I just said ‘Coach, wherever you want me to line up, I’ll play.’ "
"Being a football player, ultimately you want to go somewhere where you’re going to win and compete and get a chance to play in the postseason and maybe get a ring." he said. "You see them on TV all the time and everybody around the league watches them, so why wouldn’t you go to a place like that?"
Keep the faith!
It sure beats Terrell Owen's first interview in Buffalo
Tim Graham (ESPN) had this clip:
New Bills wide receiver Terrell Owens was a guest on Buffalo radio station WEDG-FM on Wednesday, and his appearance might have left some wondering about his enthusiasm for playing in Buffalo.
To kick off the interview, T.O. was asked what he first thought when his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, brought up Buffalo as a possible destination. After a long pause — followed by T.O. repeating the question and more dead air — Owens came up with the following response:
“At that point in time, I was just going up there to have a meeting,” Owens said. “And I thought that was just going to be the start of the process of trying to find me a team. From that standpoint, once I got there I was very excited with the coaching staff, I met with the head coach and one thing kind of happened after another.”

a bit weird
If it weren’t for the long pause, I’d have thought it was a pretty good quote. My first impression when I saw that was more like, “As a free agent I had lots of visits to make, but when I got here and saw what they were doing it made me excited and to want to be a part of things in Buffalo.” But I wonder why he had to be prodded twice, and why Graham made note of the delay?
As much as I can't stand TO
I’m willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. Everyone hangs on every word, on every inflection; I really don’t blame the guy for being cautious.

you're absolutely right
It’s the same thing that was done to Randy Moss last year, and who can forget the whole Tom Brady body-language obsession in 2006?
Keep the faith!
cool, early buy-in
I know that words are just words, and that talking like a Patriot and acting like a Patriot are two different things, but it’s always really encouraging to see a veteran of another system come with an attitude eager to embrace the New England dynamic. While I expect we’ll see him on field a lot, I think the experience he brings to the defensive backfield even from the sidelines will really help our secondary a lot.
gotta know the code
before you can act the code
"These players, a lot of other people didn't believe in them, but they believe in themselves. And that is all that matters."- Bill Belichick
