NFL Regular Season will get longer
Our esteemed co-writer Marima says no, but apparently Roger Goodell doesn't know her like I do - he's still moving forward with it. On the "yes, let's do it" side, you have fans tired of paying regular season prices for a pre-season game. Understandable given the roster you're seeing looks NOTHING like what will ultimately end up on the field. On the "it's long enough" side, will it really take 17 or 18 games to decide a champion? And what about the wear and tear on the players? I can't even imagine what it'll do to them. The Super Bowl will go into mid to late February if not March and then OTA's will start. Congrats on playing in the Super Bowl; you might get a weekend off before starting training for the next season.

I guess
16-0 annoyed him too much.
"These players, a lot of other people didn't believe in them, but they believe in themselves. And that is all that matters."- Bill Belichick
I don't agree with this...
This is just asking for more injuries, and if they were to go through with it, I would hope that they’d at least expand a team’s roster size to compensate for the beating these guys would take in a season that long.
my thoughts exactly
The players already drop like flies from the wear and tear. And they literally die much earlier than the average person. They sacrifice a ton physically to play this game to entertain us. Even though they’re well compensated financially, it just seems like this just further treats them as commodities, not as people.
Won't the season just be starting a week earlier.
Rather then ending a week later. Or am i misunderstanding what their during.
My understanding was that they we switching the last preseason game into a regular season game.

Excellent article regarding the issues of an expanded regular season
Matt Bowen of the National Football Post has issues with this idea – 8 issues to be exact. Great read.
Keep the faith!
