There's something about Cutler that must bother the coach. So McDaniels can only be honest with his quarterback. Whatever it is about Cutler that made the coach yearn for Cassel must be laid on the table between the two men. For Cutler, anger needs to yield to humility. If McDaniels has a critique, professionally or personally, Cutler must take it to heart. And McDaniels must be honest with Cutler about what went on with Cassel and then move on. Anything else is counter-productive.
Chris Mortensen's article on Cutler and McD, and I believe we said the same thing on this blog.

Seems obvious
You have a beef with your boss? With a key guy who works for you?
Best thing is to lay it all out on the table, as objectively and humbly (read open to criticism) and in good faith as possible. After that, at least both parties can honestly say they gave it their best shot, know the truth about the situation and what the other guy is really thinking, and can get along or move along from there.
Worst thing? Go public with a national media outlet so you can spill your side of the story first – making sure everyone knows the other guy is a liar – and give the silent treatment to the one person in the organization who can help straighten it all out.
Keep the faith!
Cutler will learn quick
If there’s any Hoodiness in McD, Jay will learn to sit down, shutup, and do his job. He has the chops and if he’s been watching guys with names like Tom and Peyton, they’ve been HUGELY successful utilizing a “no whining” policy as one of their characteristics.

Sorry but...."no whining" ???
Peyton = bitch in my book, one of the best, but still a major bitch.
For one reason only, this little hissy fit after they lost against Pitt in the playoffs.
"I’m trying to be a good teammate here. Let’s just say we had some problems in protection. I’ll give Pittsburgh credit for the blitzes and their rush. Those guys rushed. But we did have some protection problems."
