"People say, 'What will you do if you don't play football?' Why would I even think of doing anything else? What would I do instead of run out in front of 80,000 people and command 52 guys and be around guys I consider brothers and be one of the real gladiators? Why would I ever want to do anything else? It's so hard to think of anything that would match what I do: Fly to the moon? Jump out of planes? Bungee-jump off cliffs? None of that s--- matters to me. I want to play this game I love, be with my wife and son, and enjoy life."

anyone who studied Brady
knew that this is how he is. I can’t stand the media not doing their homework. This guy came out nowhere because of a little luck and the fact that his discipline was off the charts.
"These players, a lot of other people didn't believe in them, but they believe in themselves. And that is all that matters."- Bill Belichick

Competitive drive, too.
He hates to lose. The things he did in 2007 weren’t all that surprising to me because of the way 2006 ended (and additional fuel to the fire mixed in with Spygate to start the season). Now, his last memories are a Super Bowl loss and having his knee blown out the very first game of 2008. Brady must be dying to play again… actually, this quote told me a lot.
“I’ll tell you what I’m looking forward to — practice,” he said. “Screw the games; they’ll take care of themselves. I want to be out there with my guys. I’m so anxious to get out there and practice.”
If he’s that eager just for practice, the rest of the NFL better watch out.

You're right about the media being lazy
They could pretty much print anything they wanted and neither Brady nor the Patriots organization would dignify any media assertions by commenting. Belichick is treated the same way, with writers repeating lies and using the same old stereotypes as descriptives, and passing it off as journalism. If BB doesn’t dispute it and the readers buy it, then who needs to do homework?

"People say, 'What will you do if you don't play football?'
You know, I don’t like thinking about the answer to that question… but if I had to choose for him, I think it would be awesome if he stuck around as a quarterback coach once he retired.

I was thinking I'd love to see Tedy Bruschi stick around like that too
in some coaching capacity with the team. His retirement will come a bit sooner than Brady’s
