First Roster Cuts

The Patriots currently have 86 83 82 83 82 77 men on their 80 man training camp roster. The unsigned draft picks didn't count against the 80 man limit for OTA's, but they should all be signed by training camp. There are two freebies for IR in Brandon Tate and Tyrone McKenzie. Since training camp is just around the corner, who are the first six to go?

Navy players

Barnes, Kettani, and White are probably going on the Military Reserve. It’s also possible that we open up a roster spot by placing one of our rehabbing players on Reserve PUP.

Terrence Nunn, Robert Ortiz, Ryan Wendell, Jermail Porter, Jamar Love, and Steve Williams are all likely candidates from a quick glance through the roster.

Those two will be gone by the third preseason game

That’s when we have to pare down to 70 players before the final 53 man cut.

there should be more players

i think the that teams should be allowed more player
but thats a later debate
yes the punter will go to pratice squad like he did last year and 1 LS will be cut
BB often just gets players for training camp rivals
if Jake is within 10% of Nathan he will stay because we could get him for 4 season for what 1 with Nathan is as a long Vet

We're down to 83 now.

In addition, the Patriots waived first-year WR Robert Ortiz and placed rookie RB Eric Kettani and rookie WR Tyree Barnes on the reserve/military list.

I understand....

That it is set up for those with military commitments, so the draft pick isn’t wasted. Otherwise, teams would shun those players because they couldn’t use them right away. If anyone has more information, please chime in.
