A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court? Probably got nothing on a Steelers fan (me) in the proverbial den of lions (you). I'll be fighting/arguing this out with Babeparilli, who's been spreading his particular brand of warmth over on BTSC, where I am a regular. He and I don't agree on much, but we've settled on a topic here: Whether Ben has been better over his first five years than Brady was over the first five years he started (disinterested/disgusted parties may stop reading now).
I apologize for setting this up on the Pats' Pulpit rather than BTSC, but I'm hoping that you'll ultimately be okay with it given that one of the participants calls the Pats his team. In addition, if I'm being candid with you, I'm worried about angering some of my fellow Steeler fans over at BTSC. To briefly summarize, Babe has made a number of not-friends over there with his opinions on the McNulty lawsuit, causing more than a few to adopt an "ignore Babe at all costs" stance, and so I highly suspect I'll be chastised and cursed, possibly tarred and feathered, if I set up an actual fanpost over there for the express purpose of inviting more participation from Babe. Bottom line: We just need a forum to argue this out, and I'm absolutely fine if nobody besides Babe reads any part of the post beyond this point (again, disinterested/disgusted parties may stop reading now).
What's more, I promise to follow the guildelines by avoiding vulgarity, keeping in mind that you all love the Pats as much as I love the Steelers, and being respectful.
Babe, just to give you a sense of my expectations, I'm fine to make the first argument, at this point I feel like I have maybe two to three arguments in me. I see this thing following roughly this order: argument / argument / rebuttal / rebuttal, with the potential for maybe one final (third) argument for each of us at the end if need be. We don't need to strictly follow these guidelines, if there is even more to say then so be it, but I don't expect it.
Here goes. First argument will be posted shortly (maybe tonight, maybe tomorrow, I've got to grab a late dinner because I'm starving).
