Patriots vs. Bills Game Thread

Buffalo Bills at New England Patriots, Sep 14, 2009 7:00 PM EDT

When: 7:00 PM ET
Where: Gillette Stadium - Foxborough, MA
TV: WCVB / ESPN

Yes!  Yes!  Yes!  Enough talk about Tom Brady, flower pots, babies, and his wife Gisele.  I want to talk about Brady, QB ratings, TD passes to Moss, and checkdowns to Welker (if he plays).  I'll be at Gillette Stadium for the game, soaking up all the festivities, and fighting the traffic to get home at "Ohh dark thirty", but it's a small price to pay.

I'll have lots to tell you about tomorrow but until then, here's your  open Game Thread.  Don't forget to swing on by Buffalo Rumblings for a rival fan's perspective on our matchup.

GO PATRIOTS!!

Try justin.tv

I have to make do with the computer until my wife finish watching The Killing Fields. She claims it’s to prepare for a class she teaches tomorrow, but I know it’s a ploy to mess with my football.

It's two series

We can’t say the 4-3 isn’t working already.

Plus, the 4-3 v. 3-4 argument is all related to the personnel. The Pats don’t have the personnel for a 3-4 anymore, in my opinion…

right...

…but so far, the weapon I thought they had aren’t really the weapons they’re using. I expected our secondary to get shredded, but they haven’t really needed to try that yet. They’re gashing us on the ground.

All things considered,

I’m not all that surprised at what we’re seeing. It’s a pretty different group than last year’s. The big disappointment so far is that the oline doesn’t really seem to have improved its pass-pro from last year. They look average at the run, but they’re pretty porous on the back foot.

When they are ok, Brady’s looked shaky.

All better with time

I’m not sure it’s all on the o-line, brady is a bit rusty in his pocket manuevering, and the swagger isn’t in his step yet. All things considered it’s not a bad half – I love the 6 OL formations and dedication to the run early.

A lot of different formations, a lot of protection for Tommy, he’ll get better in the second half – Mayo being out is the key though. That would be large for the D.

Say hello to Derrick Brooks if he goes down.

Hi – this is Sebastian Vollmer,

Thanks for playing so well tonight, when I’m not playing LT for you tonight I’m banging your wife, sister or actually they both like me at the same time. It’s hard being me.

I own you.
I own your position.
I’ll take your family, leave you a cannoli

by JonnyNYC on Sep 14, 2009 9:24 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

I like them running Vollmer as a TE, though

He played it in college, so he ought to be able to take some of that over. Have him as a strong-side TE blocking freak. Oh man, that’d be sweet. And it means Watson isn’t dead on his feet, so he can catch occasionally.

by Comedic.Sans on Sep 14, 2009 9:25 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Fred's doing a lot of that between-the-tackles stuff

that Maroney’s struggled with in other years. I like the balance. Dunno where Sammy Morris is, that’s usually his ticket.
