Around SBN: Ellenberger vs. Sanchez Heats Up, Hughes Talks Retirement

Jerod Mayo

I fell in love with Jerod Mayo as soon as he stepped foot on the field. When the Patriots drafted him, I was truly jealous. Jealous that the great Patriots get another future star. After he won Defensive Rookie Of The Year. I knew there was another top notch Linebacker. I see Jerod Mayo,Patrick Willis and Thomas Howard as the future of the Linebackers in the NFL. And Im not Putting Thomas in there cause Im an Oakland fan. But whenever a LB gets 6 Int. in a season and nearly 100 tackles thats rather rare.

But I wanna Talk about Jerod Mayo. I hate seeing such young talent get side lined for a long time. Its is so sad knowing he cant make up those stats missed or help his team. but knowing the Pats, you'll find a way to cover for him. Im glad to know he will be back before the before week 10. with his imense talent. Im expecting a huge surge on defense when he comes back. I want to wish a speedy return to my man, Jerod Mayo.

P.S. I was wondering if you guys want Justin Fargas. You seem to like Vetran Backs, and Brady throws it almost 60 times a game anyways. I love the guy and I'd hate to see him rot away on our bench. You should talk to New England head office about it. All we'd ask for in return would be a 4th rounder. He's worth it.

Hold on, I'll just ask coach Belichick...

…just kidding. The number being thrown around is 6-8 weeks – could be more, could be less. I hate to lose the guy at all, but I’m hoping he’ll be healed enough and ready to go for the second half of the year plus the playoffs.

Keep the faith!

Bill Belichick:

“We’ve got our people looking at him, evaluating him. When he’s ready to play again, he’ll be out there. We’ll update the injury report and then you’ll know.”

“Thank Bill for the non-answer.”

“I try to do my part.”

The more you know, the more you know that you don't know.
