Ask The Falcoholic!
This is a very interesting week for me, the only Atlanta Falcons fan in New England, so I thought I'd pop over and see if I can answer any question you might have about your upcoming opponent.
Do you want to know if Michael Turner's yard-per-carry average so far is a fluke? Care to ask if Matt Ryan is for real? Wondering how I could possibly be a Falcons from the grand ol' state of Maine? I have all those answers and maybe one or two more!
Also, if you could please recommend this so it stays up top all week for those who ask questions, it'd be greatly appreciated. Fire away,. and here's hoping for a great game this weekend.

Your guess is as good as mine

How about your defense?
I think the Falcon offense is quite legit with Turner, Ryan, White and now Gonzo.
What is a greater question is how is the defense shaping up? From what I know/have seen the ability to generate a pass rush so far this year has been inconsistent – which could really benefit the Patriots.
How do you see them stopping Brady and Moss?
You would ask that today
We just lost first round defensive tackle Peria Jerry, who had looked pretty good starting in the middle of our line, for the rest of the season. Obviously, I’m more worried about your passing game than your rushing game, and none of our corners match up particularly well against Randy Moss.
I see the team giving starting corner Chris Houston plenty of help and counting on John Abraham and second year defensive end Kroy Biermann to generate enough pressure to keep Brady throwing off balance. Frankly, though, we’re no the Jets. You’re going to look a little better against us.

Seems there should be more time for Brady
vs the Falcons then the Jets, but he’s still pretty rusty – a lot is on him to improve and the Pats offense to lessen the burden on him.
You don’t have to worry about the running game because they don’t use it very often. They should and hopefully will soon
Recent drafts
The Falcons obviously hit on some of their recent acquisitions (Matt Ryan, for example), but how about the rest of their drafts? Any late-round guys making noise we might not know about?
Actually, several guys are either making an impact or probably will
Last year’s seventh round pick, TE Keith Zinger, made the active roster this year and looks like he might be the backup by next year. Good blocker, getting better with pass catching.
Fifth round defensive end Kroy Biermann, also from last year, had two sacks in the opening game and has terrific pass-rushing instincts. I expect you’ll see him play quite a few snaps against you guys.
Last year’s third round pick at safety, Thomas DeCoud, is playing pretty well while starting for the Falcons at free safety. He scooped up a fumble against the Panthers.
Little early yet this year, but tackle Garrett Reynolds looks like a future mauler in the run game and DT Vance Walker is back on the active roster with an injury to Peria Jerry and should join the rotation there immediately.

I thank the NE scouting department
for the development of Thomas Dimitroff.
know what you believe in and why you believe in it
Shutdown Corner
You guys have a formidable defense, but I still don’t think either of your starting cornerbacks would be considered a shutdown corner in this league, someone who can shut down Moss the way Revis did this past weekend. How do you see them handling Moss? Using double teams with the SS or OLB, or just keeping the CBs pushed off to avoid the over-the-top pass downfield?
Using double teams
And forcing the issue by attacking Brady relentlessly. In one-on-one coverage, Moss is going to win that battle 99 times out of 100.

The Poem by William Butler Yeats:
The Second Coming
Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.
I prefer D. T. Falconaru
Brady cannot save you
The Falcons will not relent
Victory is ours

Nah, he was already stoned.

Few questions
1) Matt Ryan: Is he legit or is he LEGIT?
2) Falcons unis last week: Liked them and the red helmet design. Will I see them anytime else in the season?
3) Defense: Covering Moss is a big chore for any corner (although Revis made it look easy). Who in Atlanta do you feel is up to the task? Also, with Peria Jerry out for the season, who steps in his position?
Beer is good! And stuff!
We did a great job keeping the FAlcons off the field!
although my fantasy team suffered tremenedously! seeing how i have both ryan and turner lol
In Kobe we trust!
Ryan will learn from it and improve deeper into the season
So that might be some consolation for you.
