Quick Postgame Recap: New England Patriots defeat Atlanta Falcons, 26-10
It wasn't pretty. In fact, there were parts of this game that were downright ugly. Overthrown balls, dropped balls. But, as can be the case, when one part of the team isn't performing, the other picks up the slack. In this particular case, it was the running game. If it wasn't Fred Taylor at 21 carries for 105 yards, it was Sammy Morris or Kevin Faulk pounding the rock or grabbing some receptions.
Even thought the passing game wasn't really there, Randy Moss had some nice short inside catches for critical first downs. However, they have to start making that connection so crucial for QB and WR. Get on the same page, guys!!
More to come tonight.

lets just say im glad we didnt have to make a play like that to win a game. thoguh the bills game was about as exciting as id want to win a game
It's still good knowing you have the weapons TO do it, though
and maybe the Pats let one slip through their fingers when they kept Galloway instead of Lewis. Maybe. Galloway could come right, still; he does have the pedigree, after all.

lewis never had that blazing speed. galloways upside is huge. does anyone ever thing that we didnt get TO in the offseason. maybe with recent injuries and lack of production a 1 year TO rental woulda worked. (if he wore 82 or something)
TO can't catch under pressure
so I’d imagine it’d be a bunch of very Galloway-thus-far-like performances – bunch of drops. BUT TO would realise he’s playing second or even third fiddle to Welker and Moss and go ballistic. I mean, didn’t he try to fist-fight Jason Witten and call out Tony Romo to whoever would listen because he ‘only’ got targeted 50% of the time. He’d be an awful team-mate in NE; at least Galloway’s got that on his side. He’s quiet and studious, and seems to help the younger guys out.

He broke his streak
or rather, ‘his quarterback’ broke his streak of 185 games with a reception.
Keep the faith!
As much as I appreciate BJGE
Lewis would be nice to have back on the roster, right about now. Anyone heard anything about Tate? He was only PUP-list, as far as I know, so if Galloway doesn’t get his act together in the next month, there’s always the chance that Tate or Nunn gets a promotion.
BJGE was inactive today. and lewis who knows it was a pretty lucky play for vikes. galloway has been a thorough disappointment thus far. see its great since hes so fast but even then we havent used his speed! so we might as well have a slower guy who can actually catch for once.
That's just it, though
BJGE is inactive – he’s a backup to a backup, and I’m prettty sure Lewis would’ve been on the field and producing, not even taking into consideration the Welker/Moss/Edelman injuries and Galloway’s lack of production. 20/20 hindsight vision, I guess. Although, I’ll scratch that if Maroney’s hurt. It didn’t sound like he really was, though.

I thought the Pats looked good today
as Gil Santos would say, “despite the prognostications of doom” the Pats defense kept Gonzales in check and stuffed the running game. our receivers plus Watson just have to wipe the grease off their fingers and catch a few dead-on throws and we’ll be back on track.
Keep the faith!
Keeping Gonzales in check is a very, very big accomplishment
AND it bodes well for the future. If and when the Pats get to the playoffs, they’ll have a bunch of good TEs in the teams they’ll likely meet – Dallas Clark, Antonio Gates, Dustin Keller, etc. Shutting down Gonzales ought to boost the confidence of the defence in their ability to shut out a good TE, and they’ll have gained a wealth of experience in doing so.
The added benefit is that learning to shut down a QB’s natural outlet – TEs, etc – ramps up the pressure on the QB and ought to result in sacks and turnovers down the line.

I loved seeing the fire
in Brady after the half. That was one thing missing last week that I really wanted to see from him. He is human, and coming off the knee, I was afraid the fire wouldn’t be there for a while. Boy, he laid my doubts to rest, stepping up to be the team leader again. I can’t wait for him and the receivers to get the timing down. May look like 2007 again after all.

I'd love to have been a fly on the wall during halftime
Guess he really got everyone fired up… the defense too, which blanked Atlanta in the second half and kept them to 15 plays and only 78 yards.
Keep the faith!
I said that a while back
That the day Brady is barking at receivers for messing up, he’s back in the right headspace. It means he’s confident that he did his job properly, that it isn’t his fault it didn’t work, and he’s pissed that someone else didn’t do theirs and wants them to fix it.

Key of the Day for Pats
Keeping Matt Ryan on a leash. One TD by them was a run from Turner, and that was all. If you’re able to make Ryan have a limited day in terms of making the big passing play, I’d say that would be a success.
Beer is good! And stuff!
they still got the big W
you need to give Brady more time
think he missed 1 calander year and is still good
hes got greatness to come
Brady
Was more accurate than last week, though the drops were just as bad sometimes, and they played Moss well to knock some of those bombs down that would have been tds.
I think it was a good win and a sign that the Pats Defense is improved and our offense is accelerating.
