New England Patriots vs. New York Giants

New York Giants at New England Patriots, Sep 3, 2009 7:30 PM EDT

TV: WBZ-TV / CBS
Radio: 98.5 The Sports Hub

Yup, our final 2009 preseason matchup is against the team that ended hopes of a perfect 19-0 season.  I'll try not to dredge up too many bad memories (swiss cheese O line) or negative thoughts (McD failing to adjust).  Suffice to say I think this will be a snoozer of a game.  If we even see Tom Brady or Eli Manning set foot on the gridiron, I'd be shocked.  Andrew Walter will get a workout as will Brian Hoyer, but pretty boy will hang on the sidelines.  Maybe some Wes Welker?  It would be nice, but Greg Lewis and Joey Galloway need the reps more than WW.

This is a "try not to get injured" game for those with a roster spot and a last chance for those on the bubble.  It'll be interesting to predict who stays and who goes.

I will definitely miss this game.

About the same time they blow the whistle, the final cuts will be made. No more speculation.

Wake me when we play the Bills.

The more you know, the more you know that you don't know.

i assume our pass D isn't looking too hot

though, it sounds like it’s first-string offense vs. second-string defense

No spark on the Patriots, but the Giants seem to have it

Hey, it’s preseason, but put some effort into it!

First Quater Analysis:

Pat Chung did not look good at all… He got burnt for 38 yards and was giving up way to much space.
Manningham kept on getting chunks of 8-10 yards on us… Our defense needs to do a better job on that and tighten up.

Cornerbacks kept getting burnt… They gave up way to many passing yards.
OL let the Giants get at Hoyer to much allowing him to get sacked twice.
Slater had a tough break (pun intended).

Second Quater Analysis:

McGowan had a nice pick six for 28 yards.

Pats whole DL pretty much had a nice sack.

The defense had a couple of 3 and outs.

Terrence Nunn had a nice run back.

First Half Analysis:

The defense didn’t play that well… Pat Chung got burnt a couple of times for two touch downs… The defense allowed to many short passing gains by Manniingham… The corner backs kept getting burt… They gave up way to many passing yards….

During the second quater the defense started playing better with a nice pick six by McGowan and pretty much the whole entire DL had a good sack. Also they had a couple of 2 and outs.

Terrence had nice run back in the second quater.

The offense didn’t do much at all in the quater.

When our backups started facing there backups we played much better… But our backups still should have done better against there starters because they’re playing for there job out there.

Green-Ellis had some decent runs and a TD.

Hoyer had a nice pass to Greg Lewis to set up Green-Ellis’sTD.

Nunn and Hoyer connected well.

Ventrone had two catches.

Pat Chung had another mistake with a pass interference.

Fourth Quater Analysis:

The defense did a nice job tighening up in the quater and getting an interception.

Green-Ellis kept on getting tons of yards… I’ll be shocked if he gets cut.

Green-Ellis had two TD’s! Hoyer and Aiken had a couple of nice plays together.

No problem...

It probably isn’t that great because I didn’t have a lot of time but the overall game analysis will be better.
