New England Patriots Links 1/01/10 - All Hands On Deck In Houston; Starters Will Play, But For How Long?
Randy Moss laying down on the job.
Jerod Mayo isn't satisfied with his personal stats this season, but gives the Patriots defense some love.
"At the end of the day, our scoring defense is top five," said Mayo, whose unit is tied for third with 16.7 points per game. "People can talk as bad as they want to about this defense, but you take away a couple bad games, and people might be talking about this being a No. 1 defense."
Christopher Price offers his five things to watch for Sunday afternoon against Houston. The O-Line is one of them.
The Patriots offensive line hasn’t allowed a sack over the last four games, and just 16 on the season (15 sacks of Brady and one on backup quarterback Brian Hoyer). And no New England quarterback has been sacked since the fourth quarter of the Nov. 30 loss to New Orleans, a stretch of four consecutive games that includes 240 minutes, 43 seconds of action.
The stats are all the more impressive considering the fact that the Patriots have spent most of the season shuffling its line because of injury. Sebastian Vollmer and Dan Connolly have stepped in several times this season at multiple positions, spelling starters like Matt Light, Dan Koppen and Stephen Neal, while Mark LeVoir has provided excellent depth at the tackle position.
Chances are good that the line will be able to stretch that streak well into Sunday’s game. The Texans’ pass defense is middle of the pack — it allows 216.3 yards per game, 17th in the league. And when it comes to sacking the quarterback, they’re tied for 25th in the league with 28.

i hope they play for 4 qtrs but for God's sake...no Wes on punts
though i want to be the 4th seed just to have the chance of playing the colts

and I have to admit it would be sweet
if the Pats were partly responsible for locking the Steelers out.
Keep the faith!
i know....i want to laugh at my best friends face
is there a way for us to win n get the 4th seed instead of the 3rd?

I would love a rematch against the overrated colts. WE gave them that game. Handed it to em. We wont let them off the hook next time we play them. Play in Our house and see what happens. Painton cant win a playoff game outside in the cold weather cause hes used to being pampered inside in his dome
well i dont think we handed them the game...just the defense.

i would love for the pats and bengals to roll over and play dead to keep the stoolers out. They are just whining cause they are on the verge of not making the playoffs after buying their 2nd championship. Had they beaten teams like cle, oak, and Kc, they wouldnt need US to win to be in. they controlled their own destiny and they pissed it away. nobody to blame but themselves…..go grab your terrible towel and cry into it
week 17
Lets rest the guys who dont need to be out there or who are a lil banged up. Sit wes in place of julian. let him get some reps. Tom terrific can sit too to rest his whole right side. No reason for moss to play either, play them 1 half or less and sit em. I’ll be @ the playoff game so i want to see a healthy, rested team playing.
