Patriots of the Decade: Special Teams
The Hill did a great job of getting this rolling. He's taking some time off and I'd like to see this done by the new year. Just to give us something else to talk about, I'm going to throw in a backup for each position. A backup is defined as a guy who rarely started (except when the starter was down), but you still felt pretty darn good about him when he saw playing time.
I'm not putting a POLL in this one, because there are so few choices.
I'm looking for:
1 Kicker
1 Punter
1 Special Teams Ace
1 Returner
Please vote for all four positions and designate a Captain (C).
Example: K-Vinatieri, P-Hanson, ST-Izzo (C), R-Hobbs
Kicker: (K)
Adam Vinatieri - 1996-2005 - Mr. Clutch
Stephen Gostkowski - 2006-2009 - Adam who?
Punter: (P)
Ken Walter - 1997-2002
Josh Miller - 2004-2006
Chris Hanson - 2007-2009
Special Teams Ace: (ST)
Larry Izzo - 2001-2008
Sam Aiken - 2008-2009
Returner: (R) (Feel free to add your own, because this position isn't listed in rosters)
The views expressed in these FanPosts are not necessarily those of the writers or SBNation.

Hmm, this is hard
I think I’ll split the kicker position into FG kicker and Kick-off kicker, mainly because I think Gostkowski has more leg than Vinatieri ever had and is perhaps a better runner/tackler.
I’ll also split the ‘ST’ position from Gunner, since Hoodie puts such a value on ST, I feel justified in doing the same.
In which case:
K – Vinatieri
Kickoffs – Gostkowski
P – Hanson
ST – Izzo (Captain)
ST gunner – Kelley Washington
KR – Bethel Johnson
PR – Troy Brown

You added guys I hadn't mentioned, so I added them up above
I’ll keep doing that as other names pop up.

Another vote for Comedic's list, then.
