NFL Network Power Rank Discussion

Interesting Week 6 Power Rankings discussion on the NFL Network. Jason La Canfora has the Patriots at #5, with the Ravens at #1. If you take a step back, the top 5 makes as much sense as several other combinations at this time of the year. The Patriots being in the top 5 may be somewhat of a stretch, again at this point in the season, but they could just be something special. Or not. Importantly, It's not out of the question, which is as exciting as it's been for a while in Foxboro.

The ranking wasn't the most interesting part, though. In the ensuing discussion, Marshall Faulk and Charles Davis focused on the Patriots ranking relative to Baltimore, considering yesterday's game. The conclusion was that, even considering the 4-1 start and having just beaten the top-ranked team, the team's problem is TALENT (or lack thereof). They weren't saying that the Patriots don't have talent, but that it hasn't been proven. Charles Davis made a crack about Danny Woodhead carrying the team, like who the heck is he? They gave off a strong skeptical vibe towards the team.

Good stuff.

I would think this would be a fantastic clip for Uncle Bill to show the team at the right time this week. Given the us-against-the-world identity that's developing, experts implying that this is not good enough, because THEY are not good enough, might fit right into their mojo right now...
