With Valentine's Day fast approaching, I have been pondering over which Patriot game broke my heart the most. I'm talking about those heart breaking losses where the last thing you wanted to do was turn on the radio, read a newspaper, talk to your co-worker (who just happens to be a fan of the other team) or turn on the television. And repeatedly listening to ESPN explain why the Patriots lost, while interviewing ex-players and analysts, was nothing short of pure torture. I am certain fellow Patriot fans have experienced the feelings that I am referring to, those where you can't sleep for days because the game's outcome is playing over and over in your mind with the same crushing defeat. The game where you utter the words; "I can't believe he threw that pass", "There is no way possible", "You can't be serious" or "What the f@#$ just happened".
For me it was the loss to the Colts back in 2006. The comeback made by Manning and the utter feeling of helplessness as he drove the Colts back from 21 -3 to win 38-34. I know that if the Pats were to hold onto the lead after Gostkowski hit the 43 yard field goal they would haven beaten the Bears in the Super Bowl to win their fourth Championship.
So Patriot Nation, what loss, be it regular season or playoffs, has kept you up at nights reeling with pain and disappointment?
