Bianca Wilfork tweets about Patriots and Vince
Gotta love twitter. In an interesting move, Vince's wife Bianca tweeted under the name mrs75 about hubby's franchise tag:
Only time will tell what the final result will be.
For the purpose of alotting more time for us to continue our talks and be able to reach along term agreement.
With that being said it is my hope that the tag is applied for its true purpose
The franchise tag has been applied. After six years of dedicated service i do understand this is a business
As patriotguy2 alluded to in his comments, let's hope it's for all the right reasons.

i'll credit my pops(my dad)
he kinda told me, as he was listening on the radio while making some awesome beef stew.
It is probably for the best.
With the non-exclusive tag Wilfork can look at other offers:
Four possible scenarios:
1. Wilfork finds out that whatever hang-up he had in the contract will be there in any other contract. He resigns with us.
2. He gets an offer from a resonable franchise for reasonable bucks. The Pats match the offer and we keep him.
3. He gets an offer from the Redskins or Raiders for ridiculous cash and they give us 2 first rounders.
4. Nobody wants to shell out Haynesworth bucks AND two first rounders, so Vince holds out until week ten.
If Vince holds out that long, the Pats will have someone replacing him. Vince won’t see the field in 2010, and any team that would want him is likely going to be facing an out-of-shape Wilfork whose first contract year would likely be a player strike. Doesn’t make alot of sense. I would think Vince would want to get something done this year for sure.

glad
glad that their attitude is better than Vince’s earlier statements. Hopefully the deadline for the CBA will clarify things and they can keep him.

Mrs. 75 is a player here
If she’s okay with the progression of the negotiations and that there’s an indication of a favorable resolution on the horizon, then Big Vince will be too.
Keep the faith!
Straight up!

I honestly don't know about this decision
But Wilfork’s attitude on this is much, much better than Dunta Robinson’s or Julius Peppers’s when they got tagged (Texans and Panthers, respectively).
Tagging might be a problem more than a solution; but you never know because it differs from player to player and position to position.

Yeesh!
Won’t the other contracts be in limbo until the Wilfork situation is figured out? I hate limbo-land.
Keep the faith!
Limbo-land
seems to be the favorite destination for some teams to send players in contract years.
Hey, the teams are the ones paying the most. The players should laugh all the way to the bank and back…

I suspect they might've been, anyway
Kraft’s very wily, and he’s one of the ringleaders in the player negotiation deal. He’ll want to know exactly what kind of deal (if any) will be churned out with the association before committing money to older players; no point paying them if there’s going to be a lockout that eats up their playing years.

I think that this franchising...
…allows us to move on and sign the other players in the next couple of days. Wilfork was our priority- giving him a contract first is a sign of respect and shows him how important he is to the franchise. While the deal isn’t the one he was hoping for, it’s symbolic, in my opinion, to give him the first contract/tag offer.
Now, I expect to see a flurry of signings.
