Hey Pats fans!!
Broncos fan here, Thanks for the Belichick clone w/o the rings Josh McDaniels, BTW. I took the Pats in the MHR mock draft and I was wondering if you guys would help me out a bit on who to take and such. I've also wondered if Belichick would be crazy enough to do the unthinkable and trade Wilfork and/or Moss for the picks.
Here's the scenario(s):
1. Trade Wilfork to the Lions for the #2 overall pick this year and whatever top 10 pick they end up w/ next year + throw in a 2nd rounder (47?) to help the deal along.
Use that #2 pick on whichever DT falls, Suh or McCoy or get more crazy and trade that pick down to Brian Price/Dan Williams level and pick one of the two.
2. Trade Moss + Wilfork to Denver for Broncos' 2010 1st rounder + Marshall and their random 3rd rounder (a younger version of Moss for the real older one).
3. Package #22 and 2011 Raiders pick + the 2010 42nd/44th to Seattle for their 6th and 14th picks this year. Use #6 on Sergio Kindle (fills the pass rush need + he'll rise up the charts if he has a good combine) or pick Eric Berry if he somehow falls. #14 could be Earl Thomas if Berry doesn't fall (Merriweather is FA next year and Thomas can be groomed to take over or replace an aging CB) If Berry does fall to #6, #14 could be an OT pick (someone decent has to drop right?) Patrick Robinson from FSU intrigues me somewhat as a pure CB instead of converting Thomas but Haden (more than likely available @ #6) continues the UF tradition in Foxboro + there's always let's screw over the Brownies who love Haden and the snitch Mangini factor.
4. There's a scenario out there that has the Pats ending up w/ 3 1st round picks (Seattle's 6th and 14th/49ers 13th and 17th plus Denver's 10th/11th) this year but someone smarter than me has to figure that one out.
Thanks for reading!!
