Pats sign Marques Murrell; first of yearly moves to irk Jets
The signing was announced by Robert Kraft on local radio today. Green Gang Nation thinks of Murrell as a 'decent' special teamer; presumably Belichick and the front office thought he was decent enough to steal. This is the next chapter of the yearly tit-for-tat between the Pats and Jets - it's around a year ago that the Jets signed ex-Pat special teams linebacker Larry Izzo to their squad, so it's somewhat fitting the Pats return the favour.
Murrell is perhaps best known for his assault on Bills Tight End Derek Fine - Murrell, along with another Jet, was fined $5000 for punching Fine and was benched by Rex Ryan for one game. He is of a useful size, at 6'2" and 250lb, and I'd imagine Murrell is competing with Thomas Wiliams and Bruce Davis for a linebacker/special teamer spot on the roster, and may even push Pierre Woods if Woods can't cement a LB job.

oh, yeah...
you’re right. I was thinking of the fight two Jets got into at training camp last summer, but that was Thomas Jones and James Ihedigbo. Either way though, no biggie.
Keep the faith!
