WR FREE AGENT
So with all this concern over wes welker (and there should be lots of concern) and the wide receiver position. I was thinking to my self who could we pick up as a FA that is a decent WR. So i went trolling thru the available FA and came across this

He has not had a good run in the NFL the last couple of years. Mostly due to injuries. He has shown that he can be a 1000 yard receiver. Whether or not he has anything left after all those injuries, well who knows. He is worth the risk though. No team is really beating on his door. Taking into account he hasn't really played a whole lot the last couple of years, that just means his legs are fresher and "younger" then the average 31 year old receiver.
Just a thought on how to improve our receiving corps SHORT TERM.

Pass
Between the injuries, the lack of productivity, and the fact that he wore out his welcome in three organizations and one of those was Oakland, the Pats would never sign him anyway.
And I wouldn’t want them to.
his productivity is directly related to his injuries. if we can sign him for cheap then i think he is worth the look.

Not true
He’s unproductive even when healthy. We’re better off giving Tate a chance.
Agreed.
While he may not have football “wear” on his legs, I think that his injuries are even worse than if he had been playing consistent football.

how can you say he is unproductive
Now i know the injuries did a number on him. There is no way you can blame his unproductiveness (probably not a word) on anything other then his health. When he was healthy look who he had throwing to him. Jamarcus russel. Could any WR be productive with him at the helm. Oakland will kill a players rep.
I am all for giving the young guys a chance at the WR position. I would much rather develop then to take on aging what if veteran.

dude, i'm an oakland fan as well as a pats fan
I can safely say that russel was not a very big part of his unproductiveness. He was in no way a leader on the team, he ran horrible routes, he had stone hands, and he can never stay on the field. You can only blame russel if walker was wide open, and he misses him. But when walker had a chance to catch the ball, he either dogged it, or it bounced right off his hands. He was on the injured list frequently as well.
He was a horrible player on oakland, and looking at how he played, he will not be productive at all with us. He will be a waste of a signing especially since he got injured a lot with the raiders, and the fact that he performed horribly.
absolutely not.
Being a raider fan as well, I would not have him on our team at all.
Also - he's threatened to retire at least twice in the past three years
Guy has his head, way up is arse.
