Anyone still think the Pats should have resigned Samuel?

Seems like for a while everyone was saying how the Pats should have resigned Samuel after the '07 season.

I was okay with 'mr opportunity' departing and I think it's looking more and more like the Pats made the right call on him across the board.

He's a good corner, but I wouldn't call him a great corner, I certainly would not call him one of the best in the league - which is what his contract suggests.

On top of being overpaid, it seems even with cash in hand he's not getting the 'team' concept too well. He was available in trades before Philly moved Sheldon Brown recently and given the nice PR battle going on between him and Andy Reid, (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/04/04/asante-samuel-reacts-to-andy-reids-remarks/ ) I would wager the Eagles are looking long and hard at that contract for '11.

While Tyrone McKenzie hasn't proven anything yet, I do feel if nothing else the $$ saved is a win - as I would much rather have Vince on the D then Asante. If McKenzie can stay healthy and contribute, it's even better.
