In hearing the comments made by Brian Urlacher the other day in reference to Gale Sayers and the Chicago Bears, made me think about the great NFL players of old compared to the athletes of today. As we all know, there are players who transcended their time and could easily be dropped into any modern-day huddle and continue their dominance. If there were one player of Patriots lore that could be added to today’s roster to make a difference, which would that be? Would it be Stanley Morgan to help stabilize receiving core? How about Sam Cunningham to replace the inept Laurence Maroney? Can you see Steve Nelson going side line to side line to make a tackle, or John Hannah pancaking Jason Taylor as he comes off the edge? Maybe it is Mike Haynes locking down one side of the field or André Tippett bearing down on Mark Sánchez? Let’s hear what you guys think, who would make the biggest impact?
