Got an idea to pass the time here folks, and with luck/interest we could run it through the season.  Let me know what you think:

Tammy sang it well, and now I think it'd be good for us all to do as she's asked.   Specifically in relation to the Pats D. What I propose is this:

- There are 11 positions on D, the first 11 people to commit here will randomly be assigned a position to review and create a "Standing by ___" post for.   The post would announce who will be starting in this position and why they stand behind him as the starter.

- Along with stats and analysis of the competition I think it'd work best if "standing by" posts also included some humor, ridiculous stats, other-worldly skills, or obscure references which support the players cause - but that's just me.

- If this goes over well and we enjoy it, I'd propose we extend this through the 2010 season, with each person commiting to a "standing by their man" post after each game.  That might be too much, I don' t know.

- Additionally, once the initial 11 starters are posted we can open it up for additional people to choose a different player at the same position they will stand by.   This would create a fun little point counter point during the off season/season.

Would run this using a standard 3-4 alignment, naturally.

- I'm thinking about this in a way similar to how the mock NFL draft was created on the ol'pulpit.

Any interest?  Any thoughts to make it better?
