Player Name: P Zoltan Mesko
Past Role: Mesko was drafted in the 5th Round of the 2010 NFL Draft. In College, he was a two time All-Big Ten, he was a 2009 First Team Academic All American and a Second Team All American. Mesko was a team captain and was an active member in the community, having expressed a love for community service. He was one of the best punters in college football last season and has shown great improvements every year.
Predicted Role: Mesko will take over from Chris Hanson. Hanson was the worst punter in the league last year. Seriously. So if Mesko is anything other than the worst, he'll be an improvement. With young talent being added on special teams, with gunners like Devin McCourty and Kyle Arrington, Mesko's job will be to pin the opposing team as far back as possible, and let the other players do the rest.
Then again, at 6-5, 230 pounds, Mesko could probably handle the returners on his own.
Predicted Season Numbers: 16 Games Played, 44 yards/punt Average, 38 yards/punt Net
Predicted Depth Chart: #1 P
Summary: Mesko will be a great improvement for the special teams and, if Mesko is just average, he'll be a large improvement over last year. The little yards are what matter and hopefully Mesko will give the defense some extra breathing room.
