Could Gary Guyton play OLB?
Gary Guyton is listed at 6'3'' ans 242 pounds. He is also the fastest linebacker on the team. Maybe now that spikes will hold down the middle guyton could move outside? I also just found out that Guyton played OLB at Georgia tech in college. The patriots seem to be in a situation where they are stacked at ILB at the expense of OLB. With derrick burgess talking about retirement it looks like olb will be a continued problem for the patriots.

The Pats experimented with Guyton at 3-4 OLB in his rookie season
At the time, he was washed out on blocks and didn’t look comfortable setting the edge against the run; he also didn’t exactly shine in pass-rushing. He’s had a couple of years in the league, so he’s probably improved to some extent just through having that much experience, but it’s not clear if he’d make a good fit at OLB just yet. I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets a run back there in the preseason, just to feel things out, though.

According to this site
CBSsports says he’s got “32 5/8-inch arm length”.
As a comparison to the ‘ideal OLB’ specimen of the same draft – Shawn Crable: CBSsports says Crable has: “34-inch arm length”.
It’s a bit of a difference, and add in the difference in height – Crable has two inches over Guyton – then Guyton surrenders 3 or 4 inches in overall length to a guy like Crable.
