New England Patriots Sign 7th Round Draft Pick DL Brandon Deaderick
Thanks to Mac's Football Blog for breaking the news!
Brandon Deaderick is projected to compete for the empty Defensive End position on the D-Line. While there's a very low chance that he'll break into the expected rotation at the position, Deaderick is another camp body to make try and get the Patriots the best player available at the position.
Deaderick's deal is worth $1.83 million dollars, and included a signing bonus of just over $40,000.
Deaderick started over 30 games during his four-year career at the University of Alabama, totaling 83 tackles, including 13 for a loss and 7 quarterback sacks.
According to my numbers, Deaderick's contract is right on target. His deal is inflated over last year, just as all of the other Patriots' rookies.
Welcome to the team Deaderick! I hope you, and your sweet name, manage to stick around!

Look for Kade Weston (1 pick later)...
…and Zac Robinson (3 picks later) to sign their contracts early next week.
Just a side note
The week of the Alabama Virginia Tech game he was shot. He’s come all the way back to get an NFL shot
It's hard to say what's been most impressive. The seamless jump from AA? The ability to hit for average? The ability to hit for power? The 18 walks in 111 trips to the plate? The flair for the dramatic? When you're trying to isolate the most impressive aspect of Jason Heyward's game, there's a lot to choose from, and it's only been a month and a half.
