After watching the performance the secondary put up last week against that potent Cincinatti attack I am coming into this week extremely confident about they're ability to confuse Sanchez and forcing him into mistakes. I must admit I had my doubts going into last week about the Pats young secondary and the teams ability to rush the passer but overall I was thoroughly impressed.
Early the Bengals attempted to pick on the rookie McCourty and that failed. They had some success going after Butler to Ochocinco in the second half but you have to expect that from one of the top receivers in the league. New York however has no Ochocinco and they certainly don't have a Carson Palmer or a Jermaine Gresham. All the Pats have to do this week is control the run game and force Sanchez into some 3rd and longs and wait for the mistake. I see Butler this week with some big plays including a pick maybe for seven.
The D last week also did a good job putting pressure on Palmer. They may not have had the sacks, but they were definitely causing havoc in the backfield all day. I think with a younger QB he is going to hold onto the ball a bit longer this week and those hurries and hits are going to turn into sacks. Overall I see a convincing win over the Jets in the Meadowlands this week. I think our offense will be held in check a little bit against a great defense, but I think in the end they still have Mark Sanchez, and we have Tom Brady. ENOUGH SAID!
