"Sources have told the Dennis & Callahan Show that Tom Brady was involved in a car accident on the corner of Commonwealth and Gloucester in Boston Thursday morning. According to the report Brady, who was driving [an Audi], was "shaken" but refused transport to the hospital, although it was believed that the jaws of life were used in the accident and that a pole was down at the scene."

[Update: WEEI reports Brady appears okay and is on his way to the Stadium.]

From Boston.com:

Officers responded to a call at Commonwealth Avenue and Gloucester Street at 6:34 a.m. this morning. … It was a 2-car motor vehicle accident with injuries. … One vehicle struck a pole, and that pole fell. … The fire department arrived on the scene and removed one victim from one of the vehicles with the jaws of life. … Traffic was shut down on Commonwealth Ave. outbound at Gloucester, but all traffic is now open. … Said victim was extricated to Brigham & Women’s Hospital in the nearby Longwood Medical Area.

It probably was Adalius

He couldn’t destroy locker room chemistry for the Patriots anymore.

Can Abbrederis shoot the long three and effectively distribute the ball to his big men?

Adalius Thomas wouldn't be able to drive to a rendezvous with Brady on time

Well thats good, can’t say I am a huge fan of Brady but I don’t want to see anything bad happen to him.

WEEI just updated that witnesses say the van ran a red light

The passenger in the back of the van had to be removed by the Jaws of Life and was taken to the hospital.

Nice to see this shouldn't linger legally speaking either.

A passenger in the van was unconsious

and had to be extricated with the Jaws of Life before being taken to the hospital in an ambulance. Brady walked away, reportedly only “shaken up”. I don’t know what you’re talking about because that’s about as good karma as you can get. The other guy, not so much.

Exactly, this could have turned into a Ben Roethlisberger 2006 motorcylce accident

which permanently screws up your brain, and then results in you “raping” people four years later.

Thankfully, Brady seems okay. The NFL really isn’t as fun without him.

I think football especially NFL football could make one more resistant to injury.

Brady will be hit by a “truck” multiple time during the season.

At least the Pats aren't playing the Redskins again

Fat Albert Haynesworth’s only contribution to the NFL last year was cracking Brady’s ribs in the preseason.

by Marima on Sep 9, 2010 12:34 PM EDT up reply actions

brady's accident

No matter how much talent a team has – injuries happen that could potentially derail season.

Look at Red Sox – they had at least 20 or more players go out with injuries. That put the nails in the coffin for their season.

If Perkins didn’t get injured, I think the celtics would have won NBA championship.

the patriots are very thin at OL so that is their general achilles heal

their thin at OLB but maybe cunningham may get up to speed by mid year and there is the very very very long shot of crable so ray of hope

so any assessment of patriots like other teams is always qualified by how well they weather injuries

he needs tank

he needs to drive a vehicle with lots of mass like a tank … he can afford the extra gas

later in life, i tended to drive defensively when going thru lights … i just remember all the close calls … i don’t assume the other vehicles will stop

i remember i had a green light but still slowed down to make sure all clear … just that moment, a high speeding van going high speed swooshed right in front of me from my drivers side … i’m absolutely certain i would have been dead

i avoid driving near trailer trucks also … jack knifing etc

black ice and sudden winds are the most dangerous environmental conditions

i remember driving on 495 north near marlboro in middle lane during winter late midnight. it was cold and snowy but seemed calm and ok to drive slow but just then suddenly an enormous wind came out of nowhere and nearly blew the car off the road. i know out in west, a lot of people driving die from winds coming from side and killing them

then there are just poorly designed roads that have racked up a lot of deaths

i know my tiredness limit so i just allow myself to drive for 1 hour before getting to rest stop

other …
a lot of states like virginia are upping the speeding fines drastically … $3550 … other states are sticking it to drivers too so watch out
=== Driving as little as 15 MPH over the limit on an interstate highway now brings six license demerit points, a fine of up to $2500, up to one year in jail, and a new mandatory $1050 tax. The law also imposes an additional annual fee of up to $100 if a prior conviction leaves the motorist with a balance of eight demerit points, plus $75 for each additional point (up to $700 a year). The conviction in this example remains on the record for five years. ====

No seriously people do not understand the importance of paying attention. I wouldn’t be surprised if alcohol was involved from the prior night. Check into it. Or it was a sleepy head on the way to work either way people can’t drive.
