First and foremost, what a game.
I had five main keys to the game over at Bleeding Green, and let's review them;
The Center. Ryan Wendell, New England's 3rd Center, played at an excellent level tonight and was instrumental in the success of the run-game. The Patriots ran early and had success with it early on, neutralizing the potent Eagles pass-rush and taking pressure off of Brady's elbow.
The TightEnds. Turns out the Eagles didn't have 2 of their top 3 corners, so we know what happened there... The Patriots abused the Philly secondary all night.
Vince Young. He was doing great early on, but then everything began unraveling.
LeSean. Tom Brady rushed 5 times for 28 yards. Philly RB LeSean McCoy rushed 10 times for 31 yards. Enough said.
Andy Reid. Down 10-0, Pats coach Bill Belichick made adjustments. Andy Reid couldn't keep up.
Other thoughts:
Ryan Wendell is definitely performing above Dan Connolly's level of play at center.
The game looked like the Week 1 MNF game at Miami, except the Eagles were clearly in the driver's seat for the first five minutes of the game.
Wes Welker, Aaron Hernandez, and Deion Branch had their best games since that Dolphins game. His TD aside, Rob Gronkowski had his quietest game of the year.
The secondary needs to stop being injured.
