In a fairly surprising move, the Patriots released Phillip Adams. I've been a fan of Phillip's and thought he was playing and progressing nicely in the slot. While this does mean that McCourty will probably play on Sunday, they play two different positions (outside v. slot). If anything, it might mean Edelman is there to stay as a slot guy, with some combination of Chung and Sterling Moore helping out as well. We'll see what the corresponding roster move is but count me as a person who is surprised.
