Jerod Mayo Contract Extension
Jerod Mayo has signed a 5 year contract extension according to rotoworld! I know our defense isn't the best in the world but Mayo is a player that I am very happy to have locked up for a long time! If you would like the link to the story you can click this http://rotoworld.com/player/nfl/4804/jerod-mayo.
Now I hope we can make sure we get Wes Welker signed on to be a Patriot for life. Go Pats!

disagree
I completely disagree. I think Mayo is a great linebacker. He is one of the best tacklers in the entire league and he is amazing against the run. Mayo also is one of the key leaders on this team
Agree wholeheartedly with your disagreement.
Mayo has been hampered with injuries all year, specifically an MCL injury. I know from experience that spraining your MCL is no bed of roses. You can get back to 80 or 90% in 3 weeks or so, but then it takes another month to really feel 100% normal and comfortable with your knee. Mayo last year was a dominant force, but wasn’t a playmaker. This year he took the next step to being a playmaker, but isn’t a dominant force due to his injuries. Next year (hopefully in the playoffs this year, too!) I fully expect him to be a playmaking linebacker, and the dominant, reliable tackler he’s always been.

Agree
You have to factor in the people around him though. Mayo carries a hugeeee load. Some of the other linebackers on the team are good (Ninko, Fletcher) but they are far more situational linebackers. Mayo is someone who you can put in 4 downs. I think Spikes is that kind of talent though (to a lesser degree).
Spikes is more of a playmaker type, Mayo is more of a solid type
Like Woody vs Law Firm.

Mayo is a great MLB
And if we would be getting another MLB, IF, we would should get Manti Te’O. He is like Burfict and Kuechly mixed together.
I’ll take 11 players with heart on the field over 11 guys with just talent. Talent is fleeting, it goes away over time. Heart is what drives you to be better. To push yourself beyond what you think your capabilities are. To show us that when you strive, all things are possible.- SMP
Im optimistic about fletcher tho but i have already seen that skill set in Spikes
I think Spikes will be special with mayo
Agreed
I think Mayo can allow for Spikes to be so aggressive
and ninkovich to be versatile

I love this signing
Mayo is a franchise player, solid team leader and tackler. This year he has been adding interceptions to his resume too.
Keep the faith!
