I just wrapped up my fourth pick in the two-round mock draft that took place over at our rivals blog, Gang Green Nation. There were no trades in the mock, but outside of one troll (picking Julius Thomas at 15) it was a very solid mock they made over there.
Here were my picks:
17th: Aldon Smith OLB/Missouri
28th: J.J. Watt DE/Wisconsin
33rd: Ben Ijalana OG-T/Villanova
60th: Davon House CB/New Mexico State
Definitely didn't expect to see Watt again at 28, after i passed over both him and Cameron Jordan at 17 in favor of the more dynamic Aldon Smith. But he fell to me at 28. I had to make the decision at that point between Watt, Wilkerson and Mike Pouncey. I decided not to let Watt fall to to Jets at 30, and snatched him up for his value. In retrospect, Wilkerson may have been the better selection, and the better fit, but I'm happy with Watt.
Biggest Regret: In retrospect I would have selected Danny Watkins over Ben Ijalana at 33. I over thought the pick a tad. Drafting Ijalana for his versatility, which would allow me to draft the best tackle OR guard at 60 if one was available. But there weren't any, and I opted for House at 60.
